We didn't need one. We just needed to SNAP the ball in one second. The play could have taken an hour after that.

I have no doubt Miles was telling the refs Toliver was down when the ball was taken away. Les could not have been motioning to JJ because he was nowhere near. I know this because I watched the game.

Fans are just looking for a scapegoat and can't face reality that you have a young QB and your last dependable RB injured his ankle. Who was supposed to run the ball 3 times up the middle? I believe much of the problem goes back to the void left by PerryLou.

And just who do you think would come to LSU if Miles gets canned?

i can see all of this but i cant understand how a timeout was not called sooner and how there was no first down play discussed during the timeout. no excuse for either of these 2.

miles is fortunate that everyone seems to be focusing on the last second of the game itself .. it is taking the heat off of the even dumber things he did throughout the course of the game ..

That def was not the first time... I can think of at least 2 other times this season when the dumbass has let valuable seconds run off the clock before he decided to call a timeout.

There is no excuse for Miles. Its his job and he was just as confused as he was when he called timeout when the clock was stopped.

Face it, kids playing playstation have better clock managment than Miles.

WBRZ did nothing wrong.

even if this is the argument, its a stupid one. IF it would have been ruled Ole Miss ball, the clock would have stayed stopped for change of possession giving plenty of time to argue with them about possession.. he should have been concerned with sending the FG team on the field, PERIOD.. nothing else mattered at that one second...

but again this is the same coach that tried to call a time out on a change of possession to stop the clock...

this..

how many delay of games did we have this game? how many other plays were snapped with 1 second to go on the play clock?
How many time did JJ get to the line with 5-9 seconds on the play clock?
BAAAAAAAAAAD coaching PERIOD!!!!!

I don't know. If a time out was called sooner the 1st down play would have been a field goal. But Monday morning QB'ing is easy. I think Miles learned a little more about the importance of clock management. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new OC but he's in a tough spot with the available QB talent.

Doesn't the rest of the team need to know the play, too?

Who do you think wouldn't, if they look and see how the imbicile we have coaching now can get the talent necessary to go 8-3?

I don't care if Miles was:

1. Motioning he was down. (that would be stupid on his part since Tolliver was clearly DOWN and the officials were spotting the ball). Still full of fail on Miles' part.

2. Telling the offense to "get set" as some on here suggest. Get set for what? What play, coach? Coach Miles, "uhhhh, I don't know."

3. Motioning to spike it. He can be doing that since some players were already down there AND in the video you see a black coach motioning trying to get somebody's attention around the 40-50 yd. line. Maybe that's the grad assit that told JJ to spike it. Maybe the grad assistant next to Miles thinks he is motioning to spike it.

Regardless of any of the above possibilities the play was full of fail and idiocy on Miles' part. Lack of preparation. See the Purdue video posted earlier of what an organized and prepared coach does.

same thing in the 07 auburn game but Flynn and Byrd bailed his arse out. What looked like a riverboat gambling coach was just bad game management that turned out to be lucky
