There are racing. Max leading and defending hard against the Audi.

Sad clip going around social media of him driving down pit row high fiving people right before the crash.

Race will go as scheduled. 1 minute moment of silence before.

Crazy. I could see if it was the actual 24hr race, but its a 4hr quali session. You'd think they could come up with an alternative to give the drivers a couple of days away.
Whats sad is during the out/formation lap the Sky Sports announcers were discussing things and how there are no safety cars, that drivers know what the flags mean and when to slow down and the likes.

Just sad all around.

Only video i've seen if from one of the approaching cars after it looks like the first 2 go into the wall and the camera cuts in and out, so unable to tell what happened, but he goes sideways into them almost like there was something on the track and lost traction.
Max posted condolences on his socials… I’m assuming they cancel tomorrows qualifying too
Damn, that sucks. Knew it had to be bad when the suspended everything and 45m later said they were still rescuing drivers.

There's a $10 convenience fee

Thats where they frick you... Took my kid to see a few movies over the last few years. Honestly, the ticket price wasn't bad, it was the fees they put on top of it.

$12 ticket turned into 20 something after convenience fees and everything. I'd imagine they are next on the chopping block after govt/lawsuits against ticketmaster/live nation and the likes

Race control at the Nordschleife, which is holding the 24 Hours of Nurburgring Qualifiers Race 1, has confirmed that "several injured drivers" are being attended to after a massive crash at the German circuit.

Almost an hour after the red flag was brought out, it was confirmed that "rescue operations for several injured drivers are currently in full swing.

"We will provide an update from race control as soon as further information becomes available."

The race has been suspended for now, and the broadcast has temporarily gone off air. It is unclear if and when the race may resume.

Major wreck, photos from onboard of another car out there. Trying to find something non-socials to post here.

Missed it while eating lunch but sounds like a major wreck with 7 cars, injured drivers, oil on track, barriers destroyed. Been red flagged for 45m.

I’m still sitting here wishing it was a race weekend. This break sucks.

Meh... I for one am not. Couldn't care less and if they aren't going to make Miami or Monaco free in May, guess it will be 8 weeks without it for me.

ETA: just realized Canada is in between Miami and Monaco. 3 races that are normally on ABC.

So Guess it will be longer than 8 weeks if not free on Apple TV :dunno:

Omar is reportedly filing documents to adjust that number downward, blaming an "accounting error," according to the Wall Street Journal

Holy frick, who's her accountant, Enron?

So just missed by close to 30m...
Sounds like Max is getting into trouble at home....

Unsurprisingly, the four-time world champion did hold conversations with his family ahead of this weekend's event, particularly when Piquet assumed the cancellation of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia meant the Dutchman would have more free time.

"Those things, of course, I have to address at home. And so far it's apparently going well," Verstappen said on the Viaplay show An Evening with Max Verstappen.

"Kelly said, 'Oh, there are two races dropping.' I said, 'Yes that's right, but.... I have one weekend scheduled that I will race again anyway.

"Then she looked at me like, 'Yes, do I have to?' And then I said, 'Yes, I have to."

What is the best metal song of all time?

Difficult question... I think there are a number of Metallica songs that could be up for it, Megadeth Symphony is a contender, and I'll throw in the likes of Ace of Spades into the mix. Hell, what about Walk by Pantera :dunno:
Reminder, Max is running the Nuremberg 24 qualifiers this weekend... and the weather forecast is nice and wet :dude:
He's not wrong... but also claimed he would end the Ukraine/Russia shite within 24hrs of taking office. We're on what, day 450 something and we are still sending them $$$ :dunno:

Stop in a few year or for a few years?

Honesty, as unhappy as he is, he should walk away, drive GT3 for the next 2-3yrs and then come back just prior to new regs which will in all likelihood be V8 Turbos
