and couldn't convert a third down against backups down 34-7
The backups weren't playing when he went in.
I hope Harris gets some time in the next two weeks. I hope he balls out and and his play forces Miles to start him. I hope Harris becomes a Demi-God of football.
But his play against Auburn was terrible. His decision in the Kentucky game was worse. He hasn't shown much of anything recently to challenge for the position.

Neither has AJ though. Harris hasn't played meaningfull snaps in weeks and IMO needs to see the field. At worst, he doesn't play well and you go back to AJ. As hard as AJ is said to work, I think if you put in Harris, he works even harder to try to get back in. It's not going to damage him to tell him "you aren't really moving the ball, we are going to try something else. Stay ready."

Both Harris and Jennings were pretty terrible against Auburn, only difference is on play Harris turned it loose and got us down the field and we scored our only touchdown. The talent is undeniable, he could get better with more reps and being given the green light to go out there and play football.

I too will believe it when I see it, but how many times have we heard Coach LM say this kind of stuff and then the player is a no-show on game day.
Once - the Auburn game.

how is he going to "show" on the bench?

Miles' comments don't mean anything...one way or another. It's 100% coach speak.

harris was really bad against auburn. I get that. he was clearly rattled on the road and was pressing. it was 17-0 before he could blink his eyes.
but as bad as harris was, he still essentially threw a TD (downed at the one) against the first team auburn defense.
jennings came in half way during the third quarter and proceeded to do jack shite, not converting a 3rd down either OR leading the team down the field for ANY points.

Salviati, AJ's agent maybe? Or Les?

0-13 on third downs buddy
Auburn's second pass interference during Jefferson's time occurred on a third down, and it resulted in a first down.

Penalties do not count toward offensive yardage nor completion rate for 3rd down.

quote:That's just incorrect. Harris completed one pass over three yards. It was an underthrown pass into double coverage. And he was horrible except for two runs. He consistently ran out of a clean pocket. Jennings' stats were not great, but Auburn was called for PI on two of his best passes, one of which would have been a TD.
