I don't think it has anything to do with the field.

Credit to Perch and Moffitt.

Our players were ready, Georgia's weren't.

wait, you think the SEC rolls up the Falcons field and puts down their own? You think the SEC stores their own field somewhere, just waiting to put it down for the SEC championship game?

No, the SEC does not, but the Stadium has a different field that they put down for a college game vs. a pro game. So yes it is rolled up and a new field put down. They are rolled out in 5 yrd increments and secured similarly to Velcro strips. It has different hash marks and such for the college game vs. the pro hashes. Once the field is down then they add the pellets. So yes it can have too many pellets and yes there are actuall different fields

I live in Atlanta, and that field is the exact one the Falcon play on.

I'm not saying it's impossible for a new turf field to be installed, I'm just saying the SEC doesn't do that. They play on the field that's in the arena.

I am pretty sure it is a different field than the one the Falcons use.

I already admitted it wasn't changed in this case, but it happens.

American Airlines Center in Dallas hosted a NBA game and an NHL game in the same day on saturday. So changing a carpet overnight wouldn't be that big of a step.

again, no one is saying it CAN'T be done -- just that it ISN'T done by the SEC.

Actually, the poster I replied to pretty much said that.

And no one is claiming the SEC did it, our point was some STADIUMS have multiple playing surfaces/turfs.

not that big of a deal !
