Our defense is not good right now and I don't think it can just be tweaked. It may get shredded by the likes of UGA, Bama, a&m and even ole miss. I'm not saying we'll lose those games but they will be monumental struggles at best without MUCH better defensive play.

I am & always will be a true tiger but with our schedule & the way our defense is playing I see a lot of rough road ahead. For once in my life I agree with TIGRLEE!

I'll reserve judgement until after UGA. It looks better yes, but let's play a real SEC defense with atheletes.

fair to do so...I, at the moment, have some concerns about the defense also, but I am hopeful that the Kent-AU iterations in personnel assignments (White in starting role at CB, improved LB personnel/play, etc..) will get us much better by the trip to the hedges.

UGA's D looks much more weak than ours, and our Offense looks as good as theirs...

I'm sticking to the PERFECT SEASON, though

The problems with our D are fixable. Some of those fixes include some player changes that even Miles alluded to. We have a nice schedule to get the new faces up to par as well. Not to mention having an offense that can keep up with A&M and UGA.

I'm not worried.

The more I watch it the more I worry about it. This season reminds me of 2008-2009. We won our first 2 games by a margin of 82-16 and beat #10 Auburn. And then get shredded by almost 50 points by Florida and Georgia.
At least the pick 6's shouldn't be an issue this year like it was then.
I know the offense is fun but defense does win championships.
We'll know all we need to know after Georgia.

3-0, and likely to be 4-0 when we get to Athens...

Tre White on the field is a big positive...more moves to the obvious before we loose a game, and that will portend retention of the 14-0 season.

I agree, but it wasn't the Manning camp's fault. JJ always looked great in drills. He folded under pressure.

Yup, JJ was called "Tools" for a reason. The physical gifts he had were never in question. That "deer in the headlights" look he got under pressure, followed by the "JJ pout" on the sidelines after ward...those were the problems.

we will have to win shootouts against A&M and UGA. The defense is not NC caliber, but we can score points.

There are NO contending teams in the SEC or the nation AT THIS POINT that have a strong O and a NC-caliber Defense. Bama, UGA, LSU, TAMU, Florida, USCe...none have BOTH AT THIS POINT.

Out of the SEC, LSU currently possesses the best combo of O and D, but the level of competition must be considered...so lets wait and see how we get through the end of Sept (UGA) and to the middle part of Oct (past Florida)...

The offense is certainly better but Miles was not at all aggressive in the fourth quarter. You can't sit on leads in this league. You can't forfeit possessions with mindless run up the gut against a stacked box.
I am hopeful that Cam is holding back something because it's still pretty basic stuff just executed better than in years past.
Sorry, Miles is still calling the shots and this D is not very good.

I seriously doubt we beat Georgia in a shoot out.

But you can dream if you wish. It would be great but I just don't see it.
