Not saying that Miles shouldn't be appreciated for the job he's done here since 2005, but it might be time to move on.

I appreciate that you are at least considerate of the fact that it MAY NOT be time to move on.

This is what I continue to hang my hat on.

1) 2008 & 2009 are the result of attrition of some key personnel (Ryan Perrilloux being the main key. OL & DL attrition painful as well). Last season was the senior year of the porous 2005 recruiting class. So that's lack of depth and talent as your leadership. We're only NOW beginning to reload there. And the weak 2005 class cannot be put on Miles. He came in late and had to hold what we had together.

2) Gary Crowton, though a popular choice when hired, does not fit with this program. I'm not sure if Miles is holding him back. I'm not sure if he's just not a good coordinator. I think he's smart. I think he knows offense. But I think our obsession with being multiple as an identity has completely dragged down our offense. We haven't developed either young QB who have been coached entirely by GC. While Miles should certainly be in charge of the oversight of the entire program's coaching staff, I can't put the lack of development of the QBs on him entirely.

I think Miles wanted GC gone last year. For whatever reason, it didn't happen. No one here really knows how that played out. It's unfortunate.

Now, things I can hold against Miles:

1) The Co-DC mess was a disaster. I see his thought process (with RP and most of the offense intact, defensive continuity might be better than trying a new system). But it was a failure, and he corrected.

2) Clock management issues are troubling. Ole Miss, Tennessee... and other games.

And these two things I can't quite figure out:

1) The general disorganization on offense. Seems to be a communication lapse between he and GC. He needs to take better control here. We've actually gotten better this year in terms of getting plays in and shite, but it's starting to rear it's ugly head again the past two weeks.

2) Even if you can't get rid of GC, why not bring in a QB coach? It's obvious we're struggling with that... I don't think Ensminger was a terrible hire, and maybe he was all that was truly available (I'm sure it's a lot easier to get on a message board and throw out names than it is to actually find a viable candidate that fits your salary restrictions and meshes with the program).

What if we already have one and the coaches are ruining the situation?

...hey...I'm open for suggestions...unfortunately, it doesn't look like the coaching staff is. It seems like RS threw the ball pretty well in HS...and he sure as hell can run like a deer.

it's an open secret that no great QB recruit should come to LSU?

open...secret...oxy...moron

Look, we've had good qb play until the dark days of JL and JJ...the loss of RP was devastating....and our staff failed to fill in that tremendous blank.

Here's what I don't get.

-Still recruiting top 5 classes.
-Still selling out the stadium.
-Still graduating players and keeping kids out of trouble.

We're 7-1 this year. We have the best defense in the conference (bad performance yesterday notwithstanding), with 2 of our remaining 3 conference games at home.

If we go 2-1 in those games, we'll have 10 wins. With a bowl 11.

What exactly is "on the decline" there?

Les may be 58-16 on paper but if you factor in moral defeats he's 16-58. That's worse than Curley Hallman.
Maybe it was sarcasm?

BINGO!

Miles is 0-8 this year when you include moral defeats. There's not a single game we have won (according to the silly box scores) this year that the NegaTigers have not found seriously wanting. If only the AD would judge Miles by his moral defeats, we'd have a new coach by Thanksgiving. Mark my word, even if Miles beats Saban by two touchdowns it will be a moral defeat. Miles is a complete retard and incapable of winning a game except through dumb luck or failure of the other team to execute.

We can see a program in decline.

The PROGRAM is definitely not in a decline. In fact, if Miles left tomorrow, the PROGRAM would be at least as strong as when he took it over...maybe even stronger.

The fanbase is definitely spoiled. That doesn't mean that there are no issues on teh coaching staff. Because there are.

But, let's not pretend that the LSU fanbase is just smarter than the average football fan and can see a program in decline. That's not it at all. The majority of fans are pissed because they expect dominance.

I'm not nearly as embarassed by our coaches as I am by the douchebags in our fan base who denigrate our coaches.

No, he did bring in the best group of DB's LSU has had in over 30 years, maybe ever.

Talent on either side of the ball means nothing if you can't coach them.

Not like this is the only time it's happened in the last two weeks lol.

Good coaches correct these mistakes. Bad ones do not. Before this season, this was the make or break season for me as Miles for coach, and unlike some of the crazies, I wanted to base it off the eyeball test rather than the record, no matter what it was.

What I see is improvement on the defensive side of the ball, and a lot of the same incompetence on the offensive side of the ball.

After watching yet ANOTHER timeout debacle, it's clear he does not have the organizational skills to be a head coach.
