What really gets me about the paid parking is that it is paid in cash. How does one audit this at the end of the day? How do I know these kids aren't taking this money and blowing it on hula hoops, Dan Fogelberg albums, and pac man video games?

First off, LSU is the best game day college football atmosphere in the country, period. (I go to games every year all over the country, and I say this from personal experience).
That being said...
1. BEER - sell it during quarters 1-3
2. HDTVs - put big ones in at all concessions and bathrooms. Long lines don't seem so bad with #s 1 and 2.
3. JUMBOTRON - get one (hint: ours isn't one) and keep the ads off it
4. TRAFFIC - hire an independent, out-of-state traffic consultant with stadium event experience to monitor traffic patterns at big home games next year, and come back with recommendations to implement for 2015. The stadium expansion is gonna make things even worse, and we need some pros, unbiased pros, to tell the University what needs to be done. This stuff is above the BR cops' head.
5. PARKING - Identify areas of land for public-private partnership parking lots, with retail (ie, food, drink) and restrooms on the ground floor and mid-rise parking of floors 2-8. Private capital will pounce on these and won’t cost LSU a dime, other than putting up the land for lease. And LSU will make $ from the lease to the tenants.
6. SHUTTLES - get some.
7. FIREWORKS/SMOKE - do both pre-game.
8. MUSIC - I realize this annoys people, but I say play whatever music the players/recruits want (at least the clean versions). It's more important that the players be wired. The fans will be wired if the players are. And this intimidates the other team's players to watch, especially during long TV timeouts. This happened against A&M Saturday during the opening kickoff. Their players were intimidated before the game ever started, having to be out on the field staring at our players dancing like banshees for three minutes before the ball was even kicked. You could see it on their faces.

2. Find a way to increase smartphone service so that everyone can use their smartphones throughout the game. I like to follow scores on ESPN's app during games.
I have ZERO problems using my smartphone in the stadium

Use the scoreboards for something other than an advertising kiosk. It's extremely annoying, and even more embarrassing (See, e.g., Mississippi State, UGA, University of Michigan).
Make the East side of the stadium (including ramps and concession areas) feel like something better than a ghetto slum.

I was there and agree. And people want to turn it off.

take the lower levels of all the stadium dorms, gut them, put concession stands and additional restrooms in that space; make it easier to move around the stadium...
explore the possibility of adding a covered walkway around the top of North Stadium with concession stands and tie it into the ramps coming off the East and West uppers for emergency exits...
this also enables the student section to go back to putting 12 people in a 10 person row and takes the heat off with the fire marshalls

This is easy, quit trying to squeeze money out of the fans in every, possible, conceivable manner. It has just gotten sleazy. It is very, very obvious that there are the luxury box, stadium club clientele and the rest of the fans are just scum they don't give a shite about.
1. Parking
2. Parking
3. Parking
Since they treat scores from other games as top secret info provide wifi so we can at least use our smart phones.

Too costly. That's been said, ad nauseam. Unless you want to sign a release and remove all of that asbestos yourself.

Many great comments and suggestions but until there's a limit on how many games can be moved to the middle of the day, you can expect to still see empty seats.
Our greatest tradition has been marginalized by the greed of the SEC HQ and their television contract. If there were a limit on day games...OR more advance warning of a time change...OR a limit on commercials so the game doesn't last four hours...OR one opportunity each year for LSU to refuse a time change, it would be much better.
I drive 100 miles each way to attend games. If there's a 2:30 start, I don't have time to tailgate. My entire day is consumed by the start time yet I don't even get to enjoy the tailgating. I'd rather play at 8:00 am than in the afternoon.
It REALLY sucks and it's what's killing our traditions.

The look of the freaking scoreboard has become such an overly cluttered jumbled mess, I'm amazed that any companies are really paying money to "advertise" as part of it.
Ever since this year, I've made it a point to look at the jumbotrons/scoreboards of other games I see on TV, both NFL and College, and I've yet to see one that looks remotely as much of a clusterfrick as our's does. It's an embarrassment and has reached the point of being basically useless.
Cue the folks who say, "well, that's what we NEED to do to make money."

quote:The large permanent ads have to go. Run the ads before the game and halftime, during time-outs and quarter breaks. That's it. During the game 100% of the board should be used for video replays and down-distance-TOR. Boycott any company with a large tacky permanent ad on the scoreboard.
Of course it'd be better if they used the entire screen but have to give them some credit for starting to listen to suggestions.

It's bid as Phase 1 of a project. A few of the dorms have been that way so far.
Hell, the home and visitor locker room renovations in Tiger stadium are up for bid now.

Expensive parking/traffic is the obvious and easiest to fix. But it would entail LSU giving up some income so it hasnt changed.
The money lost from parking can be made up in beer sales.

Beer- Can you imagine the revenue this could earn??
Parking/Traffic- Solve this, and every game is a sellout guaranteed!!

Get rid of the obnoxious piped-in music
Stop playing Louisiana Saturday Night
Play quality OOC opponents
Public executions at half-time
Serve beer
Lower the cost of admission
Lower the cost of concessions
