That would be my vote. I love Herb Tyler and all, but Manning made UT and was one of the best college QB I ever saw. Imagine Manning faking the hand off to K. Faulk/C. Collins/R. Mealey and throwing it over the top to Larry Foster/Eddie Kennison/David LeFluer.

short term id say peyton manning or marshall faulk..long term id say applewhite, pretty good player and pretty good qb coach IMO

he didn't want to get into LSU. He sandbagged the tests really bad. He's no genius, but if he wanted to come to LSU he would have.

"Speaking of Tech, was Karl Malone from Louisiana? If so, he'd be my pick. And, also, why didn't we get him in the first place?"
Baton Rouge has enough illegitimate kids running around already

quote:Okay. I read it. But "failed" the entrance exam? I seem to remember-back a million years ago when I went to LSU-that it was impossible to fail the entrance exam. I heard a lot of people say (good enough source for me) that if you just filled your name in on the ACT that was enough to get into LSU. Was there an entrance exam at one time?
no Bradshaw did enroll. It's in his book

Karl Malone from Louisiana?

Malone was drafted in 85. Chris Jackson in 1990
That's not possible

IMO, I think Peyton Manning would have had the most impact, but I could never see a Manning coming to LSU, ever. KC.

I laughed my arse off when I read this. People at work are thinking "What the frick is wrong with this kid" at this point.

I wish both Peyton and Eli played ball at LSU...

Your answer is in your statement. Dale Brown missed out on Keith Smart who lived right next door to the university and played HS ball at McKinley.

Peyton Manning wouldn't have made the biggest difference, IMO. It isn't like we suffered at QB while Peyton was at Tennessee. I know some will think I am crazy, but I think Herb Tyler did just as good of a job in his offense in college as Manning did in his offense.
Ed Reed would have been huge for Saban's early LSU teams. Way better than any safety we had back then.

Peyton Manning to Eddie Kennison, David LaFleur(1st team all american in 96) and Larry Foster would have been big so i'm going with Peyton. Throw Kevin Faulk in there and LSU would have dominated any SEC defense.
