our o line isnt giving our qb time to throw

There isn't a QB in CFB going through 4 progressions in a single play
I know that is mostly true a-hole. But assuming a normal qb makes a read or two BEFORE the play even begins to find the "hot" receiver against the given defense and then maybe goes to a second if that route is jumped, it is safe to assume that many go thru 3 reads total on a normal pass plays. The reason JJ doesn't do that and we are standing at the line like a group of Merkeets looking at the sideline, is because GC is having to do the read for him from the booth and signal in to JJ because he has trouble making the pre-snap reads by himself. Read the topic before you just run off on a single post. The point being the thread was about our opponents needing 4 cornerbacks to play against us. Jefferson can't make 2 reads on any given play, much less get to 4. SO...in closing, NO frickING WAY a defense has to even think of needing 4 cornerbacks on any one play against Jefferson!
You statement backs up my point.

Jefferson is best suited for a running style offense with a killer defense. He is not the type of QB Crowton requires
Matt Flynn?

While you can't prove it, I can't say it isn't true. If so.. it gives some insight into how much is being demanded of Crowton rather than indicating that he's in over his head.

So did OU use the meerkat b/c Bradford can't make the reads either?
The meerkat has nothing to do with the QB's ability to make reads. It's used in a no-huddle situation where the OC can pick a play based on the defensive alignment while the offense lines up in the same set from play to play.

Except we use it on every pass play, huddle or not. Does that tell you something?

Then they'd have to deal with the same crap the Arkansas receivers have - balls thrown too fast or to the wrong spots.
Petrino's system puts up numbers with any average QB, which all I think Mallet is.

What about Matt Flynn? Flynn wasn't taught to avoid interceptions at all costs, Flynn was confident and a team leader. He was the type of QB Crowton required. Jefferson is not a leader and he is not confident, yet he is heavily relied on. JJ plays not to frick up. He makes few mistakes, but takes few chances. That's the type of QB for a running offense - not the crazy shite Crowton does. All I'm saying is that we need to be less reliant on JJ to take pressure off him, he may even play better if he knows the pressure is on the run game.

Actually, we didn't.

We put up 3000+ rushing yards when Flynn was the QB.

HINT: There are only 2 conerbacks on the field at a time in football.
Wow, great football knowledge right here. Oh, and great spelling too.

skilled wr are useless unless we have pass protection and a qb to get them the ball. unless crowton makes some drastic changes in the offseason we have a long way to go in terms of seeing our wr corps go beastmode on everyone.

It's too bad we have no one competent at the QB position.

LSU will find out very early how good or bad the offense is this season. Heard that UNC returns 19 starters from last years team (offense/defense) and that 4 of their starters (defense) are serious contenders for early round selection in next years draft. This years OOC isn't 4 cupcakes.

JJ will have a career year this season
The real issue is will he have the OL he needs to help establish the running game he needs to help keep the defenses honest so that he can get the ball to the receivers who are open on any given play (hint: it won't be all of them).

THink the defenses were effective vs the run simply because they knew LSU didn't have a downfield threat.
LSU offensive line was fairly decent at pass blocking. Most of LSU's sacks could have been avoided.
