An actual bomb,

If LSU comes in and plays their game no amount of bad officiating will be able to slow that pain train down.
As someone who was there, you are naive.

It would take a team to disect our pass defense with quick passes, exploiting the youth of our young defensive backs. That team would also have to be able to completely man handle our o-line thus sacking mett several times any getting a couple of interceptions including a pic 6. That team would have to be able to keep our run game in check by jumping to a early lead of 14-17 points ,forcing us to throw the ball more than we want to under pressure.
Auburn is not that team.
Auburn is not that team.

Cam Newton to play in place of Frazier..

If we play down to Auburn's level, the game will be closer than it should be. Trust me, Auburn will throw everything at LSU this weekend.
On offense, Chizik will run every trick play you can think of this weekend to try and gain some kind of advantage for his team (Auburn cannot beat LSU straight-up). On defense, Auburn will probably blitz like crazy with the hopes of getting Mett rattled early and disrupting the rhythm of LSU's defense, and maybe even create a turnover or 2.
Auburn does have really good athletes (despite the horrible coaching) and at the end of the day it is Auburn, so one can understand the uneasy feeling some fans are getting.

anything can and will often happen in an SEC game. Were you born yesterday?

So my question to yall is what kind of apocolyptic occurences would have to take place in order for LSU to lose this Saturday?
Trade our whole team for ULM's. Even then we would have a 50-50 chance.

I am not so sure that they have that many.

If Mett goes down, it's a whole new ballgame.

Look at what happened last week when a ranked VT team went on the road to play a horrendous Pitt squad.
One lapse is all it takes. When you are VT
FIFY..
First road game for Mett is a non-factor.. remember how we didn't have a QB last year? We can just use that plan if he "freaks out"
In reality we'd have to turn over 60 percent of our offensive drives.. the defense couldn't get ANY big plays. brad wing punts like a normal mortal. and Auburn managed to figure out offense in a week..

Turnovers or an injury to Mett.
Posted on 9/19/12 at 11:07 pm to CottonWasKing
Les would have to duplicate his 2006 7-3 gameplan and we would have to have about 8-10 turnovers to account for the fact that this Auburn is not the 2006 team.

Mett mistakes a flat-chested girl for a guy....

It would be a different ballgame, but the result wouldn't change. Auburn has bigger problems than just LSU's QB.

if we knelt every down then MAYBE auburn would have a chance.

Sloppy careless play a la Arkansas 08.
But LSU won't be going down that road again anytime soon IMO.

One question mark coming into the season was how would Mettenberger do, period. There was every reason to assume he would do well at this level but until you prove it on the field it is still a question mark. He has proven himself against inferior talent in Tiger Stadium. First road trip, first SEC opponent. How will Mettenberger do? He certainly doesn't have to have a perfect game this week, but if his accuracy and composure in the pocket is good enough to keep Auburn quessing run vs. pass we should be fine.

Did anyone forget about Tennessee? They sucked and we almost lost.
