His leaping ability is off the charts, but I think his ball handling holds him back from being a more prolific dunker. He relies on other people to set him up.

He made 3 treys today he’s shooting a better 3 point pct than Days by 30%. He shoots 78% from the free throw line, he’s a great defender. You take away athleticism from 90% of basketball players and they’re almost all average. You can’t score 30 points and be as good as he is in as many areas at this level and not be extremely good at basketball. Cmon now you know better than that.

That feeds off of what I said. If he had better ball handling skills to go with his quickness and leaping ability, he would not be able to be stopped penetrating. I have watched him try all season, and he can't consistently do it. He has the ability to have great games, like he did today. He's a solid player for us. His basketball skills hold him back from being great though.

I don't expect you to understand what I'm saying. Does he have those games every night? Does he have those game most nights? Is he always knocking down 3's?

If he scored 30 per night he’d be a superstar. You said he’s not good at basketball. There’s huge gap between scoring 30 per night and not being good. If you’re gonna use that standard LSU has had 1 good player in its entire history. And no I understand perfectly what you’re saying, you either misspoke and can’t admit it or you’re an idiot.

Great pic of dunk against Ky.... that is all air without assistance of rim. He still has ball in his hands! I saw Scales and he could throw it down with style. Gimme the shorter dudes jumping 6ft in the air. Scales was 6’9. Been watching LSU since mid 70’s and Taylor is worthy of being called the best. Another guy who a lot of you haven’t heard of was Al Green. He was another sky walker who could drop the hammer and finish with authority. Wish I could find film of some of his dunks.

What I meant was that he is good because of his athleticism, more so than from having basketball skills (I know athleticism is also a basketball skill). And I also said that if he had those skills he would be a GREAT basketball player. I thought I made that part clear but maybe I chose my words poorly.

Scales was one of the best. I think I saw him take off around the free throw line and jump over a defender for a dunk.

But Al Green was the most impressive. At 6’2” if I remember correctly he had a 48” vertical jump. They said he could pull a dime off the top of the backboard.

Memory is a little sketchy but those two could throw it down.

Saw Green one game drive center of lane and cup the ball in his wrist Dr. J style and windmill dunk and I nearly fainted. Dale used to play it in the bumper highlights before Inside LSU Basketball show.

I see what you mean now, it was the “he’s not good at basketball” comment that threw me. You’re right his athleticism is his strength and it is elite so it is a kindve tease for fans. But something recently has really encouraged me about Taylor. Last week he had an awful game where he kept turning it over and losing the ball on drives. He must’ve worked hard on redeeming himself because vs Arkansas he looked extra aware of it and took care of the ball. He had one very nice drive where he was decisive and it worked. Then today you saw the confidence in his play, he knew he had figured something out and he was attacking without hesitation. I don’t think we’ll see another 30 piece but you never know when the light switch will come on for a young player and we could be seeing the best version of Taylor we’ve seen moving forward.

I know Glover, and you're right. He had 5 dunks against UNC and Rasheed Wallace.

Brings back some memories: Dewayne Scales, Rudy Macklin, Greg Cook, Howard Carter, Ethan Martin, Jordy Hultberg. Remember, 7”2” Andy Campbell from Australia? That was back when officials called walking, carrying, and the four corners was legal - no shot clock!
