would put the following above LSU (no particular order):
definate top 5:
tOSU
UF
UGA
USC
OU
The next 5 could go a number of ways:
Mizzu
West Virgina
LSU
Texas
AU
anywhere from 6 - 10, but i was expecting to see them an 8th in the coaches poll.

Why is UGA in the top 5 terrible? Preseason polls aren't supposed to predict the finish based on schedules, they rank the best teams. If you don't think UGA is one of the top 5 most talented teams, you're insane.

Preseason poll Doc
I don't see UGA finishing in the top 5. The schedule is killer and they always choke under pressure. Too much hype for them this year, and you can only go down from the #1 ranking.....

Then call me insane. Their offense is lacking in the QB, WR, and especially the O-line department, and their defense was not that great last year. There's no way they're going to give up 30 points to Florida and find a way to win this year.
And really, what do you suppose Georgia's offense is going to do when they line up against our defensive front? What options will they have?

Let's see, eight returning starters on offense and nine on defense. Their defense which you say "wasn't that great" gave up fewer points per game in conference play than LSU did even without counting the points LSU gave up in the six overtimes.

It wouldn't happen. If LSU goes undefeated, they're in. No voters would be stupid enough to leave out an undefeated defending champ from the SEC that has won 2 out of the last 5 NCs. Not to mention they were against OSU and OU.
