You two may be converting me. Excellent points.

I'll try to be honest. I want LSU to win another National Championship and I believe we have a better shot at it if we play anyone other than Bama. I would still put my money on LSU if that's who we play..

I think Bama is better than Ok State but if they beat OU i think they should have a shot at the tigers. Just like Florida against Ohio State. Everyone thought UM was the second best but they were the third best.

Best honest answer i have heard. If Bama makes it, LSU will have a couple of advantages. One is "home" field in the dome. Second is they already beat Bama and had a great game plan that will be even better.
Bama will have one advantage, revenge factor

So what is your suggestion?
I would like to see an 8 team playoff starting with the 4 BCS bowls

UM was 4th, they got trounced by USC.
But yes that's why Bama already had their shot. Let someone else who hasn't played LSU take a shot. There are a lot of other conferences and teams out there.
If Bama and LSU played 50 times, they will still be the best 2 teams out there I'd say. The only way to settle that dispute is on the field. Wait, that already happened, in Tuscaloosa. There are no mulligans in college football.

+1 is the best I say. If you aren't in the top 4 you don't deserve a shot for the national championship. Also, +1 only adds 1 more game and protects the integrity of the regular season, and bowl games which are nice.

I think the +1 gives us best of both scenarios.
On another note(completely off subject), what are the Saints chances of going/winning the SB? I have always been a Saints fan, grew up on MS coast, and it was great in 2009 when Bama and NO won championships. I can only imagine living in LA and having LSU and Saints both win

8 team playoff starting with the 4 bcs bowls basically is a +2. You 'd have 2 games after the 4 bowls then the NCG. I like it because it still maintains the bowl system which makes for an easier transition to a playoff

This, though I do not mind beating bama again

Check the Saints board. I think it's going to be tough to get past Green Bay. I don't know what they drank at the end of last season but they look unbeatable right now. But the Saints O is clickin like fried chicken so maybe they have a shot. I think either of those teams beat whoever comes out of the AFC.

Bama has no risk playing us again. If we were to play them and lose, they hoist the trophy for getting a split. We don't get the chance to play them again for best 2 out of 3. Having said that, I do not believe we played our best football against them on Nov. 5th. We can definitely play better. Strangely enough, I still think this team has not played it's best football yet which is scary.

We already have a playoff. It's called the regular season. You lost. You're out.
That said, you're actually probably in, and you are the 2nd best team.
But how many times does the 2nd best team in the NFL happen to be in the same conference as the best team? Happens all the time, and the team from the other conference (for instance, AFC) isn't as good as EITHER of the NFC Championship participants. Yet they get to play in the Super Bowl, because the 2nd NFC team already lost!!

I don't know if those are the best games or the most deserving but for me, they are the most appealing.
Agreed, but for the "gameboy"generation all they know is TV ratings. That said, if they force us to beat 'em again, then so be it!
