I spent a semester in Kirby Smith and he lived there. Saw him all the time, plus at every sporting event. He will always be the Superfan!

Was Mike the one who would do the Indian chant that was simular to the FSU chant?

Yes this was him. And yes, I too saw him squat over 400lbs. So, you would laugh at him but you didn't want him to see you laughing.

Someone should set the dude up with a show on BR sports talk radio. He would easily beat out everyone except Buddy.

Yes. I lived near him in kirby as well. His was damm near a clone of Rainman. His workouts were classic. He would grab the heaviest weights he could find sling the around with terrible form (like 1/4 rep), throw it down then go scream at himself in the mirror...."your the best" he would sream at himself. I saw him often in kenner workin out at the Ymca there. So from what I recal he was from there and stayed with his folks for many years after college.

One of the school papers gave him his own weekly article. He was able to get in all of his thoughts regarding LSU football, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, Saints football, skeet shooting and dating advice without the use of any punctuation. Accordingly, I'm sure he's latched on with one of the big city newspapers by now.

I worked at the rec center and certainly remember him being there a good bit as well as running up and down the isle at BB games. One time he slipped and ate it going down the isle and the student section let him have it.

There is no doubt that he was special.

Was he the guy who seemed a little off and during basketball games he would go off? I remember that guy.

i saw a guy snatch his bandana off his head during one game. he chased the guy around the walkaway above the student section. He eventually caught him, put his bandana back on, and went right back to cheering.

Ok, it is the guy I remember and I was at this particular game. He loved shaking the newspapers.

I lived in Kirby Smith fall of 90 on the 7th floor known as Mungolia. I lived with the RA Leo. That place was nuts. I was on house council...my main job was to get the keg for volleyball Thursdays...I was 18. Coming from Texas I spent much time just amazed at my new environment...mike toole seemed par for the course amongst everything else.

What a great fan. Loved him at the basketball games. Back in the day when we used to camp out before basketball games, some friends and I were first in line before Mike (I think it was during Mardi Gras). Mike showed up and was almost distraught that he wasn't first in line. He begged us to let him go first. Who were we to get between a LSU insitution and his tradition! We let him in front of us and he spent most of the night practicing his 2 legit chant.

We still do the blamp, blamp, blamp chant during free throws at the game. Under our breath...not as loud as Mike.

That guy got real good at deflecting things being thrown at him during games too!

Somebody has to put an APB out for Mike Toole. This needs closure. I remember this guy being a freak of a fan at every LSU event. Always wondered what would become of him after LSU.

Amazing how he impacted many of us at LSU at that time. Imagine if we were good in football back then. Probably would not have mattered to Mike.

I remember seeing Toole in the gym. He would psyche himself up in the mirror before doing squats. Dude was strong.
We used to see him in the old gym armory weight room pre-Rec Center. Yeah, he was damn strong too.

Had to love this guy. You knew where in the PMAC he was at all times. Nothing deterred him....not even J Brady.
