If he out grows corner, yes. But right now he is too good at corner. Did you say the same about PP?

he's started 1 game, how can you say he is too good at CB?

Claiborne was the starter all last year for a reason over Simon. He has more talent.

Put your palm out with 5 fingers and you can count how many 6'3" CBs are in the NFL on that hand. 2 or 3 MAX. None of them are any good.

Jai Eugene started over Patrick Peterson in 9 out of 13 games in Peterson's frosh season. I don't think talent had much to do with it. Not saying Claiborne isn't talented, just that he had a clear experience edge on Simon and TM7.

There are a few that are 6'2" or taller. Asomugha, Cromartie, Rodgers-Cromartie and Tillman are all pretty good for being taller corners.

but you are sold on Simon after 1 start?

The NFL drafts on potential as much as performance. And Simon's early performance just reinforces the screams potential. He was very solid coming on in relief against Texas A&M, and his play against Oregon only increased his appeal to the NFL. If he improves with experience, as is custom, he will be an early draft pick.

The scary part is that he is not up to Mathieu's level as a playmaker. Ordinarily that would make Mathieu the "best" prospect, but the NFL places a premium on height at defensive back, and Mathieu doesn't have ideal height which lowers his value. Personally, I think that is a mistake, as you just can't coach natural instincts, which Mathieu has an abundance of. I think Mathieu will have an excellent NFL career barring injury. But then I think Simon and Reid will too, and Claibourne will be a starter for someone.

I can't understand why some of you people continue to list Loston over Reid.

I know rivals put those 5 little golden stars next to his name and Eric only had 4, but that was a couple years ago and it's time to let that go.

There is a reason why Reid played over Loston last year, and will continue to do so this year. He's better. Is loston good? Yea. But Reid will be big time and will likely be 1st team preseason all SEC going into next year. He's everything chad jones wasnt. Reid is the best safety we have had since Landry.

claiborne, he played opposite pp7 and did well
simon, he good enough to move tm7 to nickel
reid, good but still needs work
tm7, height a concern or he would start at corner
loston, loads of talent but still doesn't get it
taylor, good solid consistent player

ps. GREAT GROUP, but no one near these guys level in the last 2 years (small problem), lc to rescue

there's like 1 person in this thread who's done that, as opposed to Reid being put not just above him, but #1 on a lot of ppl's lists. I think we've gotten past the star ratings.
