if CG really was hot garbage and couldn't beat out a walkon, then i'm mad at miles for his inability to recruit/develop QBs
his track record is horrid in this area

They all think they know better than Miles or any other LSU coach, ever, how to run the team

Any negative feelings I have for Miles are shared with Crowton.

forget about Ole Miss? frick you. I still like Miles but that bullshite is unacceptable. not just the "clock it" thing... more like the disorganized CLUSTERfrick that was our team after Toliver caught that pass. he was a fumbling idiot that night (he knows this)
People need to get over what happened AFTER Terrance Toliver caught the desperation 4th and 26 pass. We were fortunate to have even completed that pass. What you should be pissed at is that we had the ball 1st and 10 at the Ole Miss 32 yard line with roughly a minute to go and 2 timeouts and proceeded to back up 16 yards on an incompletion, a sack and an ill fated screen pass, taking us out of FG range and the aforementioned 2 timeouts. That's what is inexcusable when you have a chance to win the game by setting up the FG (which is what we tried to do earlier in the year against Georgia, and got lucky that Charles Scott busted a long TD run). I'm OK with you being pissed at Miles & Co, but at least be pissed about the right thing.

I'm definitely mad about the 1st down we had at the 32 after LaFell's catch and run. That was one of the bigger frick ups I've seen. Both situations scream incompetence to me, though. So I'll be mad about both

Why? When he was nothing of the kind.
He was a river pilot. When it came to anything on the water, the man was a genius. Gold. When it came to football, he knew jack shite.

Man, quit letting your children play with the computer. They type stuff that makes you look brain dead.

everyone needs to get over the fact that they called a HAIL-MARY, as in a play designed to be caught in the end zone and to be run with no time left on the clock so no matter the outcome of the play, the game is over. the ball wasn't designed to be caught NOT in the end zone, the call wasn't called to have any time left on the clock. like BMoney said, if you are going to be pissed, be pissed at the right thing.
i'm going to stop thread-jacking.

you should be pissed that he let 20 seconds run off the clock before using his final timeout.

So, you're saying Jefferson tried to throw it to the end zone, but came up 7 yards short? They've watched this guy every day in practice and in games for two years and they don't know he can't throw it from midfield to the end zone? And Tolliver just ran his pattern wrong and wound up at the 7 on a play designed to go to the end zone?

Both are frickups that warrant criticism. Just because one came first or was worse does not excuse the other.

2007-2009 QB signings:
-Jarrett Lee (2007-4 stars): 3 years in the program, could not start for one of the weakest offenses in the country.
-Jordan Jefferson (2008-4 stars): 2 years in the program, did start for (and was one of the weakest links of) one of the weakest offenses in the country.
-Russell Shepard (2009-5 stars): 1 year in the program, attempted 0 passes, moved to wide receiver.
-Chris Garrett (2009-4 stars): 1 year in the program, redshirted, cut from team.
Were they all four just talentless losers and our ability to evaluate and recruit QB talent is this bad, or were they all four worthy of the combined 17 stars among them and our ability to develop QBs is just this bad?
Not that it's important to know which it is, since either is inexcusable.

Well, with the exception of Saban and Arnsparger, ole' Uncle Joey was right. Mac, Stovall, Archer, Hallman, and Dinardo all deserved to be fired. I think you should be posthumously lauding Uncle Joy as an unsung prophet and genius

What if the following is true:
1- There is a deadline to inform athletes whether or not their annual scholarships are to be renewed,
2- Les has received what he thinks is a firm enough commitment from Z Lee to believe he will be here for fall practice,
3- Les believes that from a) seeing Garrett perform for 1.5 years, and b) seeing Z Lee perform in offseason workouts, that Lee is the better prospect even in the short term,
4- Les is looking at the available spots to pare scholarships so that he can sign what is shaping up to be one of the best recruiting classes at LSU.
5- Les believes he can get a decent QB in this class, and a top notch recruit to learn under JJ and Z Lee in 2012.
Just saying. . .
