Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, could've led that LSU team to a win against Alabama on 1/9,
So you think that is BS but you think that putting in a guy who was 24/58 for 316 yard 1TD/7Ints against Alabama in 4 games which included a 3/7 with 2 INTs earlier in the year would have somehow been better?
Talk about irrational. If you want to make the assertion that we should have given Mett a chance, I get that, but Lee looked horrible in 4 appearance against Alabama.

I agree.... JJ was not ready to play in that game.... it was obvious from the start.... however.... Saban made made adjustments since the first game and Miles did not.....

It’s easier to make adjustments when you lose.

This and the well known fact that he refused to change/tweak the offense! I was always a Les fan but gosh damn the man refused to change. Saban changed up the game plan and it worked, but I thought our defense gave us a chance to win the game!

Alabama was very beatable that day. Don’t let the score and LSU offensive showing skew that.

Not really, it's called scheme. Something that helped LSU move the ball and win in first game. It kept Bama from completely pinnin ears back.

To a point, you still self evaluate! That way you identify your own tendencies and scheme off of that!

This.

I hate that Les didn't even attempt to try something different
I didn't care if he put Jarrett Lee in and throws pick sixes, Jefferson wasn't going to win us the game that day
Go down trying for fricks sake
I was proud of the that season, it was historic. Its shame that the last game of the year put a stain on the entire thing.

and the mfer quit in the 4th quarter when he started running the ball, no hurry up offense and he PUNTED! HE QUIT! we shoulda had lee in HUNH. WGAF if we lose 70-0? or 21-0? both are blowouts. GO DOWN SWINGING!

This and you compound that with the offense the following years, is exactly why He has yet to get an interview. How anyone, including the OP can defend that game and not blame him is baffling.
That Gameplan and in game coaching was a complete Abomination of NCAA national championship football.

i love these posts saying lee was not shite againts bama when he clinched the game against them in 2010 and he was not bad in 2009. also in 2008 while he did throw 4 picks which was bad he led us on the game tying drive in the 4th quarter to keep us in it. we were not blown out. yes he was bad in 2011 i am not arguing that at all.
lee did best in hurry up. we could have used that in natty. we had nothing else to lose at that point.

They don't understand Scheme or tempo

We had played the greatest single season ever (and still I believe) but we were lucky we beat Bama. Most of our points were being scored by defense and special teams. The SEC championship game agains't Georgia should have alerted even the feeble brain of Les Miles. We didn't get a single first down in the first half. Not ONE!
It was so obvious we weren't going to beat BAMA with that offense and Jefferson at quarterback. At least if we didn't come up with at least a few new plays and quick. Of course we didn't and everyone knows the result. We still might not have won but at least we would have been competitive.
We were shamed after the great regular season. That sucked the spirit out of every LSU season since. Throw in the equally dreadful calls the next two years with Mettenberg and third and Chavis and there you go. You need coaches that are smart to win in this day and age. We haven't had a head coach since Saban who would fit that description.

08 13/34 181 yards 1 TD and 4 Picks including 1 in overtime.
09 4-10 44 yards 0 TD 1 Pick
10 4-7 67 yards 0 TD 0 Picks his best game
11 3-7 24 yards 0 TD 2 Picks
That’s a 3-2 Completion to Interception ratio in 2011.

It alerted everyone in the Games after the first bama game. He gave the reigns to Jefferson and basically became one dimensional. But not LES, just sit back and wait for that crazy unplanned play to happen.

No one is saying Lee would have lit Bama up or won the game! The point is Miles had over a month to prepare...A MONTH, hell, even 2 games showing a terrible offense, he kept the status quo and that's the shite show of a game plan he brought! As he was standing on the sidelines, getting beaten with a rubber hose, he did nothing but take it.

I mean It sorta moves the ball the first time
But you can’t gameplan Lee and jefferson into good enough QBs to beat that defense.
We were always going to play a battle of field position, special teams and defense.
We just lost it this time.
It’s not like Bama scores 3 TDS they kicked 5 field goals. Their offense wasn’t prolific, but just a little better.
The only arguement is that we should have played Met all year. Which is 100% true. We definitely should have.

What damn game plan ? There was no game plan ! The motor for that offense blew up and Les refused to put in a brand new shiny engine standing next to him ! He should have been fired the next day !

Then why even play the fricking game? Gah Damn some of you are ridiculous. Miles great game plan regressed from first match up.

We didn't cross the F'n 50.....the 50! 92 yards of offense! LSU had one of the best Ds of all time and bama racked up almost 400yards. How? they adjusted and brought a different game plan. Miles simplified his. Take the purple and gold glasses off.

Kicking the shite out of Arkansas and Georgia using the same shite offense screwed the team for the BCSCG. They didn’t even get a 1st down in the first half vs UGA. But Mathieu made a few big plays to turn the games around and covered up the offensive shortcomings. So Les thought he didn’t need to do anything differently.
