People keep ripping the game plan when our players also played like shite.

The OL couldn’t block, and I ammpretty sure JJ shuttle passing the ball to an Alabama linebacker wasn’t in the gameplan either.

Also JL was very efficient. Up until the Alabama game when he was the opposite of efficient.

He went 5-7, unfortunately 2 of those 5 completions were to the other team.

His last interception he threw the ball without even looking.

He was garbage. He has always played like garbage vs bama.

Les trolled Lee in the SECCG and put him in for the final snap.

That was when I knew he would never see the field the following month.

So you agree with that game plan?

The game plan sucked. The adjustments sucked. JL would have sucked just like he did for four years against Alabama. The LSU staff sucked.

You feel better now?

Funny shite seeing those bitching about the bitching going on over last season now bitching once AGAIN over a game that happened six years ago.

Don't forget Zach Mett. was sitting on the bench. Play him the second half and we win. END OF STORY.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, could've led that LSU team to a win against Alabama on 1/9,what a load of bs

Actually, I thought 'Bama was the better team and should have won the first game. And thought Miles was an idiot for "asking" for a rematch. ("I'd be honored to play that team again.")

It seems everyone BUT Miles knew JJ couldn't win that game. Little shyt like that is the reason he was fired.
I'd still prefer Miles over Orgeron any day.

Are you serious? Maybe because our offense looked like total shite the entire ballgame and he looked to have the exact same game plan that he used the first time we played them that season and only managed 3 field goals? He didn't change anything up at all in his gameplan, and he didn't make any halftime adjustments either. He kept trying to force a square peg into a round hole and we got shut down worse than any game I've ever witnessed. We had far too much talent on that team for it to have happened like it did. For it to happen in the national title game, in new orleans, with an undefeated team, against saban and Bama on national TV made it the worst. He deserved all the backlash that he recieved from that bs. He never recoversed as a coach from that game. He got exposed big time as a coach that will keep doing things his way, even if it's obvious that it's not working, hasn't worked, nor will it work later on. He refused to change, and that was his downfall. I love him as a person, I respect and am grateful for what he did for LSU and Louisiana, and I have no ill will towards him and wish him the best, but damn he really was his own worst enemy. He has only himself to blame for how that game ended up and how his coaching career turned out at LSU.

Biggest reason:
As LSU fans, whether it be football or baseball, we won every NC game we were in. We never had to deal with 2nd place before.

none of my all time LSU teams would ever get out performed by a 2-10 team in the biggest game of the year.

I was somewhat with you, until this. Don't be a ridiculous stat guy.

The mere fact that I can state this does not make it untrue. Playing dumb or sticking your head in the sand will not change anything either.

A 2-10 Ole Miss team had double the yardage and first downs vs the same Alabama team in 2011 than an undefeated LSU team in the national championship game.

2-10 Ole Miss offense was much better vs Bama than a 13-0 LSU team.

Let me remind you:

In fact the 2011 Bama team only had three shutouts all year:

1. 5-7 North Texas was shut out.
2. 6-7 Vanderbilt was shut out.
3. 13-1 LSU was shut out.

Kent state, Georgia Southern, 2-10 Ole Miss, 6-7 Tennessee all out performed LSU’s offense vs the mighty 2011 Alabama defense.

All of this had to do with Les Miles being the head coach of LSU.

Kent State did better than the 2011 LSU team.

Kent freaking State!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The biggest issue I had was the fact our offense couldnt even stay on the field. We had a much better chance even with little to no offense had our defense at least been able to play a semi normal amount of snaps. 69 snaps against Alabama was ridiculous to ask of any defense. We would have destroyed oklahoma st and gone down as possibly the greatest team in college football history but for a stupid fg Les Miles was that close to being the head coach of that team. I forever will thank him for being the coach of LSU.

You’re lying. Miles never had aranda on the staff for a game against Alabama.

Please, for the love of god, this is over 6 years ago.....let it go. There’s not a subject in LSU history that hasn’t been discussed as nauseum more than this 1/9 garbage. It’s done. Finished.

Fanbase is still kinda broken for that.

I'm saying he wouldn't have been able to recruit and put that team together.

If anything, Les should be given credit for that. And I think we have learned, not any bozo can win here.

What you've been trying for the first 3 quarters hasn't worked, Saban knew Jefferson was going to scramble so they stayed on their assignments and kept him contained, forced JJ to throw the ball.

Wasn’t the best completion he had all night to a sideline guy with someone running open behind Nd the safety too?

Lee got a bad rap with the pick sixes, what people failed to realize is that year we averaged 30+ points/game, the defense sucked that year. Gave up 50+ points twice that year and I know, 14 of the 50+ points was pick sixes in one game but the defense still gave up 38, people dwelled on the pick sixes but they wouldn't have really mattered any other year with the great defenses we had. They went into Bama 2011 regular season with the same old game plan (pound it and play action and go deep and that's typically death against Bama yet that stubborn arse bastard did it anyway). They could have helped Lee out tremendously by throwing bubblescreens, swing passes, slants, etc., anything to keep the heat off of Lee early and let him settle in to the flow of the game. No traps or counters to exploit Bama's aggressiveness either
