Yep, they're breaking the law as in interferring in the practice of free enterprise.

Where's the Po Po?

In July 2025, federal authorities indicted "several" current and former Louisiana law enforcement officers for their roles in a nearly decade-long visa fraud scheme. The scheme involved selling falsified police reports to undocumented immigrants, which they could then use to fraudulently apply for U visas.

Unfortunately Louisiana, with its history of political corruption, could teach other states about running a fraud scam.

I'll say it. How much you figur they greased the palms of that convenience store owner to let the cockroaches do a photo-op?

WTF happened to LSU baseball.

Geez early season analysis indicated LSU was destined for No.1 and another CWS Championship.

Somebody pumped up the numbers on some of these players on that Transfer Portal.

Plus, I'll say it. This NIL scheme changed collegiate sports......and NOT for the better either.

When it comes to who's the dumbest airhead in government? IMO it's a dead heat between Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ketanji Brown Jackson. But on second thought Ketanji Brown Jackson might have a slight edge.

Please, President Trump save us from the infestation of the airheads.

Okay remember you asked me for evidence - for starters how about Bergoglio's decision to bless gay unions (let's not fool ourselves - he blessed gay marriage).

Now please be specific. Has Pope Leo moved to end the blessing of gay union (aka gay marriage)? (Yes or No)

I submit to you an incident involving a conversation between Napoleon Bonaparte and then Papal Secretary of State to Pope Pius VII Ercole Cardinal Consalvi (1757 - 1824). Having conquered most of the known world at that time, Bonaparte portrays more than a little bravado and arrogance.

According to historical anecdote, when Napoleon Bonaparte threatened Cardinal Ercole Consalvi, "Your Eminence, are you not aware that I have the power to destroy the Catholic Church?", Consalvi famously replied, "Your Majesty, we Catholic clergy have done our best to destroy the Church for the last eighteen hundred years. We have not succeeded, and neither will you".

Some of us orthodox Catholics are greatly disturbed by reports of unorthodox and blantantly evil activities going on inside the Vatican. We have a right (and I would argue - an obligation) to speak out regarding these activities.

I have immense respect for Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller. But the reality for us is that we're seeing no evidence Pope Leo is moving to undo the clear unorthodox moral and doctrinal policies Pope Francis implemented. I wish I'd heard Cardinal Müller speak out more forcefully against those obviously flawed papal policies. A few Cardinals have.

Regarding Pope Leo's stinging criticism of President Trump's actions against Iran - nuclear annihilation is a terrible thing - ask any survivor of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki what their ordeal was like.

Bad people do bad things. And we're seeing a very disturbing trend - increasingly the bad people have access to weapons capable of killing millions (not hundreds - not thousands - but millions......WITH ONE BOMB)

President Trump took a look at the risk involved in allowing Iran to continue to sponsor and export terrorism and he moved. The world is a safer place because of his action.

President Trump is right about.........everything.
I applaud President Trump's efforts to hammer out an anti-nuclear proliferation agreement with Iran. But remember this - Islamics' are pathological liars. It's in the Quran.

Specifically, when it comes to dealing with Infidels (that be us) the Quran does not suggest they lie to us.........it demands it.

What concerns me, that 440.9 kg of enriched uranium still in the hands of those radical Islamist. IMO, at best, President Trump's efforts have bought us some time.

But like I said - I applaud President Trump's effort to bring peace to that ravaged region.

President Trump is right about........everything.

Nothing lasts forever, not even pain.

I feel your pain. I finally got to the point where I let those ugly LSU loses just pass over my head.

The painful loss at that broke my rabid LSU fanhood? The embarassing 20-18 loss to Texas A&M in Tiger Stadium on September 19, 1970. The legend John Fergeson did the radio play-by-play. The score does not capture the full scope of that heartbreaking loss.

All of that awful LSU performance can be summed up in one disasterous play. I recall A&M (believe it was late in the game) on fourth and long lined up to punt the ball to LSU. But at the moment A&M snapped the ball for the punt, LSU did not put up a rush and instead the entire front line faded back. Whereupon the A&M punter saw nothing but yardage in front of him and ran for a first down. I mean the entire LSU stadium saw the disasterous play unfolding (LSU did not) and you could hear an audible gasp by the LSU fans over the radio. Bottom line? Texas A&M wanted the game more than LSU.

No gonna lie, it reminded me of an embarassing mistake I made, during a "home" game, on punt coverage. On our punting team, I always played end and I did the inexcusable - I trotted down the field on punt coverage. Luckily our guy playing punt coverage on the other end got down there faster than me to stop the opposing punt returner (for a very short gain). Man, I got chewed up one side and down the other by our coach after that game (justifiably so) .

Anyway, that LSU loss to A&M sort of broke me of the despair from the effects of post game "unrealized expectations".

Taught me a valuable lesson - collegiate football is a game young men play in the fall. Just like collegiate baseball is a game young men play in the spring. I enjoyed and celebrated the LSU victories and if we lost - there was always the next game. The rabid LSU fan was replaced by mellow yellow dude. Pop another beer and enjoy the game,eh?

But I still get chills when I hear the stadium announcer say - Ladies and Gentlemen your attention please, the sun has set in the west - it's Saturday night in Tiger Stadium.

:geauxtigers:
NO. Paul Mainieri's record of playing "small ball" just wouldn't cut in this expanded SEC.

Plus he'd prolly recommend another Hal Hughes clone at short stop.

Relax TigerNation.......Jay Johnson will right this ship. If not this season, then the next.

Trust the plan.

Serious question... Could a lower court challenge a SCOTUS decision?

Honestly, IMO it depends who holds the seats of power.

The mafia democrats have proven time and again they are adept of pulling off the ole "snatch victory from the jaws of defeat" routine.

Expect the mafia democrat army of democrat federal district judges to pounce on this SCOTUS ruling with wave after wave of appeals.

Count me as one of those in that 58%.

In this case Leo is on pretty sound theological grounds.

This Pope may be (as you argue) on pretty sound theological grounds on his opinion on this war with Iran, but I would argue he's not on sound ground when it comes to accessing the threat (and danger) of an Islamic regime armed with a nuclear bomb. Iran armed with a nuke changes everything.

President Trump has access to intelligence this Pope does NOT have and I'm satisfied President Trump made his decision to confront Iran based on his concern for all peoples.

Pope Leo might disagree with the immigration and foreign policy of this President but I guarantee President Trump is concerned about that 440.9 kg of 60% enriched uranium still in the hands of the Iranians. Honestly, everyone (including this Pope) should be concerned about Iran coming out of this war still in possession of that enriched uranium.

President Trump is right about.......everything.

You asked me to define communism and I did. So let's cut to the chase - regarding Pope Leo XVI constant criticism of Donald Trump's immigration and foreign policy let me remind you in 1929 the Catholic Church officially relinquished its control over temporal matters. So maybe Pope Leo XVI should butt out.

The Lateran Treaty, signed on February 11, 1929, by the Holy See and the Kingdom of Italy, officially relinquished the Catholic Church's control over temporal matters and the Papal States. It recognized Vatican City as an independent sovereign state, settled the "Roman Question," and included a concordat regulating church-state relations in Italy. So is this Lateran Treaty the origin of this separation of Church and State policy you anti-Trumpsters are always howling about? Do you know?

So maybe Pope Leo XVI should focus on running the Vatican and the Catholic Church, clearing up any doctrinal confusion by speaking Ex cathedra in matters of faith and morals. Then leave the running the government of the United States to President Trump?

I'm curious, do you know if Pope Leo XVI has officially ended Bergoglio's policy of blessing Gay Unions?

quote:

You don’t seem to know what communism is.

Thank you for the oppertunity to educate YOU on communism. Communism is a system that controls both the means of production and distribution of goods and services. Think of functioning communism as a triangle - the point at the top represents centralized government power and control. We "sheep" are at the bottom of the Triangle. Throughout salvation and human history the masses have been subjected to this thing called "centralization of all power" at the top. For centuries the system of "The Crown" represented the ultimate centralization of power in one man (King) or one woman (Queen).

Now lets compare this theocracy we call Catholicism and the abuses that have plagued the Church (for centuries actually). Across salvation there have been great Popes and some have been downright corrupt Popes. And God sent prophets (Nathan / David) and holy men (John of the Cross,Ignatius of Loyola, Augustine of Hippo) and women (St. Monica,Theresa of Avila, Therese of Lisieux) to lead us out of the mess we created. Did I mention after the Protestant Reformation God sent us St. Francis?

I'll simply say as it applies to my opinion of this current Pope Leo XVI let's just say "the jury is still out" on his Papacy and just leave it at that. And I have a right to make that observation.

I am one of those poor sheep at the bottom of that Triangle and I"ve had to raise children in this absolutely insane world.Trust me - I bare the scars from that ordeal. And that has left me wishing God would send us another Karol Cardinal Józef Wojtyla (aka St. Pope John Paul II). Sorry Robert Cardinal Francis Prevost is no Karol Cardinal Józef Wojtyla.

But I pray for Pope Leo XVI. Ultimately that's all I can (and should do).

quote:

Catholicism and social justice have always been intertwined.

Absolutely. But I sense that what's happening now the Catholic social justice being peddled by clerics (including Pope Leo) is nothing more than communism disguised as social justice.

Remember, in terms of social justice, the only difference between Catholic social justice and Communism is the difference in which the two ideological systems achieve its goals. The Catholic Church, acting at the direction of their founder (Jesus Christ) chooses to affect that change through the transformation of hearts (aka Conversion) while the Communist uses the barrel of a gun to "impose" that transformation. To put it simply - the priest are the shepherds and we are the flock (aka the sheep). And as the former son of a farmer - sheep were the dumbest of the animals on the farm. The things had absolutely no sense of the danger lurking behind every bush. But I digress.

Unfortunately, the betrayal by our Catholic hierarchy, including Pope Francis. (did I mention the betrayal by defrocked cleric Ted McCarrick?) has done more to destroy the trust in our Catholic Clergy than any other scandal.

I've already shared on this forum the fact that I myself saw evidence of democrat political activity in a "Catholic" parish in my former diocese. I believe they call it "voter registration" (hint: I remember thinking - what's this thing about separation of church and state the democrats are constantly howling about?) The democrats even allocated a Precinct Bus to provide transportation for the registrants.

To which I say - please get your head out of the sand and pay attention to what is happening in your country and in your Catholic Church.

But thank you for your response to my concerns. We (American citizens and Catholics seeking truth) need to have discussions like this.

Those two poor traumatized teenage children. Reports indicate the son was the one that found his mother in the basement. Then he called 911.

Prayers for these two kids and the families of the deceased.

quote:

Prevost is an Augustinian, Francis was a Jesuit.

And I said Bergoglio was mentored by an avowed Argentinian Communist.

So maybe I've stumbled upon a problem with our seminaries as in they're indoctrination centers for communism. Not surprising since this seems to be the problem in all OUR American institutions of higher learning.

And defrocked Ted Cardinal McCarrick was the go to cleric in America the Vatican consulted when it came to promotions to Bishop. Man, could I do another in depth analysis of that fiasco.

But thank you for your observation.

Some time ago I shared, on this site, a story told to us by an old Missionary Priest. A brilliant biblical theologian and dynamic homilist. He recounted to us how he (at the request of the Bishops of the Pacific Rim), was sent to help them set up their own seminaries. They were sending their young men to seminaries in Belgium and France. The problem with that - those seminaries were turning their ordained priest into communist.

Remember this my fellow Americans and Catholics - Robert Cardinal Francis Prevost (aka Pope Leo XIV) is a disciple of Jorge Mario Bergoglio (aka Pope Francis). FACT, as a young man Jorge Mario Bergoglio was mentored by an avowed Argentinian Communist. FACT - no secret Pope Francis surrounded himself with Bishops who pushed radical socialist (not social) policies.

I recall hearing reports that Liberation Theology Catholic Priest in South America were throwing their support and activism behind radical communist. I vividly remember my hero Saint John Paul II confronting the proponents of Liberation Theology on his visits to South America. He believed Liberation Theology was a dangerous mix of Marxist ideology and Christian faith AND it fueled violence. His message to those Liberation Theology Priest - put aside your activism and serve the body of Christ (as in celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, preside over the marriage of their children, bury their dead and console the widow, and hear their confessions - in effect be Personna Christi.

So the Marxist sent a hired killer to assassinate Saint Pope John Paul II. Pope John Paul took numerous bullets but miraculously survived.

Trump 2025 - He took a bullet from an assassin sent by Iran. In both assassination attempts God said - Nope.

Fortress Islam - 3000 Mosque - Conquest - Not Assimilation

Play close attention America to what is happening in the UK and throughout Europe. Islam is on the march. We've got Muslim Call to Prayer occuring in Times Square. The enemy is no longer at our gate, he has breached the walls (thanks to open border advocates Barook Obama and Dementia Joe Biden) and is attempting to build his cities governed by Sharia Law.

If America is foolish enough to let the mafia democrats back in control of Congress and that Oval Office you can bet we'll begin to see reprehensible attacks like this occurring here.

Trump / Kirk 2025 - They both took bullets from assassins. President Trump survived his attack. Charlie Kirk did not survive his.
Please Mr. President please do a better job screening your SCOTUS nominees. That last one you nominiated has proven to be a real bust.
