after the UAB game he caught hell, but expectations were still in an infantile stage. He'd only scratched the surface of what would be the "culture over haul" of LSU . Now it's an angry bitchy Teenage girl in need of some serious satisfaction. IMO

The offense was ugly in 2004, but any fan with a half functioning brain knew it was due to nothing more than QB problems but that the future was bright with a developing JR. The defense was never the killer it was in 2003, but it was not bad and as a whole, even if the team was not explosive, it looked tighter than the past two years. the future was very bright at the end of the 2004 regular season.

I attended the Ole Miss vs. LSU game in 2001. Eli Manning had a great game, Ole Miss won. After the game, in the parking lot of Tiger Stadium, people were calling for Saban's head.

Also, in 2004 we got blown out at Georgia - they were just great that game. But then LSU goes on to win the next 6 games. LSU scored 40+ 3 times that season and 50+ twice. LSU also held 6 of our 11 regular season opponents to 14 points or less and only Georgia scored more than 24 points.

Saban started with crap and built into a elite program.

Mile started with an elite program that appears to most of the country to be in decline.

You may not agree, but thats why.

[quote]Just to refresh everyone's recollection, LSU went 9-2 during the regular season during Saban's final season.

My bad. I guess the loss in cap one bowl gave me the amnesia. But i'll take the 10-3 record this year.

Also, during Saban's tenure LSU was undefeated in November/December games 3 separate times. Miles has only gone undefeated in November/December games once in his five seasons.

Saban did get heat from some idiots, but the program was clearly in good shape until December 25, 2004.

We haven't won the bowl yet. If 2004 added a weak OOC opponent for a 12th game, LSU would have been 10-2 regular season. We were also, 6-2 and would have been playing in the SECCG if it weren't for the phantom re-kick at Auburn. Remember, that is the season AU went 14-0.

The 2004 team had a much better resume than this years team. Don't sell them short just because you're pissed about the bowl game.

too many if's in your reasoning. Our problem that year was again poor quarterback play. we beat some teams who were a little down. And that happens everyyear. I still think this year would have been better with more experience at quarterback. just like any year there are some if games and we had a couple this year, but in no way i am taking anything from the 2004 team. But i am not going to constantly praise nick saban simply because he is bama's coach now. Maybe sour grapes on my part but shite on it anyway

BECAUSE HE WAS NEVER THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE NATION.

AND DESPITE A FEW GOOFS, THE TEAM IN GENERAL, DID NOT LOOK LIKE THE DISORGANIZED CLUSTER, IT WAS WITH MILES.

and we were never 108th in offense.
