I would say these 2 teams are almost identical.

Top 2 defenses in the country that absolutely dominate opponents.

Great running games, neither team will throw the ball unless they have to (and this is changing a little bit for both teams every week).

well I am glad you are so omnipotent. These are 2 pretty evenly matched teams, even with purple and gold glasses on. They can certainly beat us, and we can certainly beat them.

I can see your point, they are similar in where their strength lies, but I see a different attitude, and technique between the two. I believe you can see the differences in the characters of Saban and Miles reflected in the teams. LSU is a little more wide open, all over the place kind of team, where Bama is a more technique oriented team. I believe if LSU can maintain a high level of excitement and edginess, it will be the difference maker versus Bama.

Go to the SEC rant and argue with one, they will tell you they have had a harder schedule, even after this weekend. That Trent Richardson is the best running back in the sec and Lattimore is 4th best. They don't understand schemes.

Arguing with fans like that means you lose when you win, so I will just say that they are the greatest team ever, and when we win it will be pure luck.

You cannot quantify this statement you keep making. It's simply your obsession. Lsu has played great football, just like bama. There is no way you can say either is better at this point. I would actually say Lsu is better based on the level of competition they have beaten down. What if Lsu margin of victory was 5 TDs. Then would Lsu be better. I actually think the X factor in determining who is better could be Turnovers, where Lsu is 4 in the nation. Bama is 50. And we got the honey badger. Advantage LSU.

Now for my real breakdown.
Lsu secondary vs. Alabama passing: advantage LSU: maze is good, but our starting cornerbacks are future NFL corners and our other one is the best playmaker in the nation. Could be trouble Trent vs. Linebackers.

Alabama o-line/ rushing vs. Lsu dine:
Slight advantage Bama
LSU dline is slightly undersized on the ends, and the d line has never gone against a Bama line. Plus the downhill attack is going to negate the speed if LSU dine.
If the lsu line can control the edges they have a chance. Also this is going to be a war of attrition whoever is healthier wins this battle.

Lsu passing vs. Bama secondary:
Slight possible advantage..... (he'll I knew this answer I would richer)
Lsu wide receivers are good, Alabama's secondary is good. LSU will have to turn some hard passes into catches, and Bama will need to create turnovers. This is where the game will be won or lost.

Lsu rushing/ oline vs. Bama dine.
Advantage Bama.
LSU is solid on the oline and will negate Amy big advantages for Bama, but the Bama linebackers are solid also. Finding a screen game will be essential for LSU to keep the game even.

Special teams
Advantage LSU
Even besides lsu punter is great.

Bottom line:
For lsu to wim they have to have a solid Passing game
For Bama create turnovers.

You do realize there are still a lot of negatigers out there right...the Dreaux's of the world....JL haters....Miles haters....LSU negatigers......there are also a lot of alters.....most logical people understand that this is LSU's best team in a long time (I'm sorry, this D is better/more playmakers than 2007) and quite possibly Bama's best team to. It will be a war. If we win we are great, if we lose, we are doomed, miles can't coach, etc., etc.,. You have to remember you are dealing with a lot of 20-22 yo kids on here who don't have a lot of wisdom and logic yet...they are still in a knee jerk phase of their life and can't see the big picture yet.....just the way it is.

Jefferson had a good game and we beat Bama. I see a better LSU team and a better Bama team this year and I give us the edge over Bama because Bama has to prepare for 2 QBs now.

They are not better. They only have a homefield advantage this year, but that doesn't make them better.
