I don't have a very high opinion of F. King, but I think we are all taking this scenario waaaaaay too far.
This ridiculous speculation is all based on that dumb letter that PETA sent after Mike V died. That letter had no power of persuasion and legally there was nothing they could do. Sure, they may be dumb enough to send another one (likely to just grab attention since they are much less relevant now), but again no one outside the University can do a thing about it.
As far as SJW pushback goes, there's no chance of that happening. All SJW protests are based on what the trendy thing to rail against is or what "oppressed" faction of society wants attention. As far as I know the topic of animals kept in proper captivity isn't a relevant priority for the protest-oriented folks.
The point is that seemingly everyone on this board is inclined to believe that the worst is going to happen simply because they don't like F. King Alexander or don't think he's capable of saying, "Yeah, go ahead and start searching for a new Mike". There's no evidence from his previous screw-ups that he'd be this oblivious to Mike's relevance to LSU.
tl;dr: Too many folks on this thread are way too paranoid about a scenario that won't happen

No way does this happen. Beyond the obvious tradition, what would he do with Mike's $30M habitat right in the heart of campus?

I mean, the guy did hire Buzz Killington herself, SJW extraordinaire Maria Fuentes-Martin. I wouldn't be surprised if his first inclination would be to cave. The guy is an F'king joke.

He needs to be run out even if he tells PETA to go jump in the lake. F. King is a cancer to the university that needs to GO!

Well, PETA has spoken....
Your move, F. King.
