Honestly, I think Shep redshirts unless Jefferson gets injured.
naw you're wrong
and yes, i know, that means shep will likely have 1 year to play QB for LSU

did you see him last year? he was bigger and not nearly the same explosive threat

Holiday is that fast. I think LSU does a decent job of using him to his fullest.
I guess LSU really is using him to his fullest if he touches the ball every single time he gets on the field on the offensive end.
To answer the thread, it seems to me that there was more emphasis on recruiting speed in this last class, so maybe(getting Lache/Reed would really help). To this point I don't think Trindon has been used to his best potential, but it's hard using a player like Trindon. Florida uses their's so well due to having multiple gamebreakers ATC catch types at the same time, and the whole Tebow thing. With Shep there will be opportunities for sure, so we'll see.

you got insider info, or just your gut?
I think the smart thing to do would be to redshirt...unless he turns out to be an Adrian Peterson-type game-changing freshman.
Then again, it's hard to be that type of gamebreaker when you're a #3 wideout or a change-of-pace QB. I say let the guy define his position in practice for a year. Then, play him.

on a small level he was.
he had like 1 or 2 long runs(VATech?) and 1 long catch on a swing pass(AUB)

i think if we really want him to play a real QB for us, he needs to redshirt
i think the extreme chances that he doesn't redshirt limits his chances of playing QB in the future

I agree but I think he gets action at QB before his Sr. year.

he broke off some long runs in 2006 also

I think we'll use Holiday much the same as last year. He'll decoy on end-arounds, and he'll run the counter out of the shotgun.
When have we ever used Trindon as a decoy on end arounds?

we've run play action off the sweep before

Florida would be lucky to get that kinda speed again
at least on that side of the ball, with that kind of talent for football
they breed the damn bastards and i still doubt it
once demps or rainey is gone the peak is over
debose will have similar speed to harvin, but i doubt they will ever see 3 impact players with that speed on offense for a long long time

i guess its all how you define "HR".

They use Holiday as a decoy quite a bit. Miles is always harping about getting Holiday into the game on plays where he doesn't get the ball. If he shows the tendency that Holiday gets the ball every time, the D would key on him and negate him.
Holiday is too small to get the lion's share of the carries and THEN be used as a decoy.

I'm sure the amount of times that was used could be counted on one hand. Did we use that against Arky this year? I faintly remember that.
The Toliver reverses were pretty successful in 07 when we ran them. Wonder why that play went to the graveyard.

the thing is, both jefferson AND lee would likely have to get hurt for him to get major QB PT

I'm not so sure about that. Lee is obviously capable of being benched in favor of a true freshman.

one day the rant needs to collaborate on a "graveyard" list of plays
1. Keiland-Scott i-form
2. This Play: go to 3:06 (this is also trindon as a decoy. we ran it like 3 times this game alone)
