Ok, so your saying since we didn’t throw the ball more last season that accounts for their dropped passes or WRs struggles in the passing game? That’s a indistinctive correlation further disproved by Jefferson’s success against Miami and the playing time and success of 2 true freshmen at the position.

Next, you’re clamming it’s the sights and sounds of the environment; speaking to your own issues as a “baller” (you must post on the OT) effecting your game play. Well, some ppl are gamers and some are practice players. We had two true freshmen come in and play big. To your point, they should be the ones struggling the most, but they didn’t. I’d imagine the team and fans want players who don’t let the environment dictate their play on the field. If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen. Dillon and Sullivan have had at least a year playing under the lights, sights, and sounds of tiger stadium. Your point is dumb.

Finally, the whole drops to stardom point. We also have had a lot of receivers who just had a lot of drops and got benched. Dillon has had a history of awful drops and continued to have the same problem Sunday. The jury is out on Sullivan, I think he has the ability to be serviceable in the red zone.

MFing this! He made a Jarvis Landry type attempt on an underthrown ball to prevent an interception and ended up catching the ball but out of bounds. And that guy says he had his opportunity. WOW!

He has caught every ball thrown to him that has hit his hands except one. He is criminally underused. A mismatch waiting to be used. Mind boggling to me he is not one of the offense prime weapons. He always deliver.

Where did you cim2e up with that crap? Not true. Sullivan is the best blocking WR on the team. He's dropped one ball his whole career. He catches everything that hits his hands.

My point with Dillon is he drops easy receptions

He dropped one easy reception. It happens. Derrick Dillon needs to be on the field.

Did Giles ever get a catch?. Was the DB covering him that good?.

The 2 all American DBs on either team basically nullified the other team's #1 receiver.

Brutal post but I’d have to agree. Chase and Marshall appear to be more complete players in route running, receiving, and, most importantly, blocking.

Guys, None of us has any idea who is better in route running.

completely agree with this. No one here analyzes that or really even knows what it means. The Rant just bases it on who looks open, which of course depends on a lot of different factors, not just the technical aspects of route running.

First, let me start with saying you are absolutely right, but, your nitpick response missed the point. The idea was the most complete player will play. Since receiving, blocking, and ROUTE RUNNING are pivotal aspects of the WR position one could venture to say the significant playing time of the two true freshmen is indicative of their skill level in the aforementioned criteria of the position. Meaning they are beating out other players because one or many aspects of upperclassmen(s) game is insufficient.

He, also, had 9 of the 18 drops in the last scrimmage. He may have sealed his fate.

To think Sullivan won’t be used more is absurd. He’s played more than any of the guys in his class. And that wasn’t a “drop” he had Sunday night. Speaking of his class, I was kinda shocked Dee Anderson started the game and played so much. Very pleasant surprise as everyone kinda assumed he was buried in the depth chart due to the doghouse he couldn’t seem to get out of.

Chase looked great, but I was surprised he and Marshall didn’t play a bit more, actually. Marshal did have a drop himself though. Racy didn’t play much if at all. I think the only WR who is guaranteed to start every game he’s healthy is Jefferson. Dude is always open. Lots to be excited about if we can keep Joe upright and start making the easy catches. I do think a lot of it was 1st game jitters, though.

These youngsters need to see the ball thrown at them regularly in order to become effective WR's, it's one thing throwing to them in practice and another thing in live games

That sounds great, but there has been talk about drops in camp, too.

This is true. That was a tough play to make as it was placed where the DB could get his hands on it.
