I think the chances that Bama 09 is as bad as LSU 08 is about 5%. Our defense was an utter disaster. I cannot see Bama having that problem.
Our QB play was the worst I have witnessed in my 33 years. The absolute worst. Could McElroy struggle? Sure. But I doubt he can be as bad as Lee.
I expect Bama to go 10-2 and either win the West or finish second. As of right now, I'd rank the West:
1a. Ole Miss
1b. Bama
3. LSU
(To be clear: this is assuming that Chavis improves the defense but is not a panacea and that Jordan Jefferson plays somewhere in between his Arkansas and Ga Tech performances consistently throughout the year. College football is a tricky, tricky sport. But I think these should be the "chalk").
