Will the defense improve?? I said it before... natural instincts and ability to locate the ball in the air is hard to teach. What they can improve on is learning where to be. Forget that our playmaking ability is not good, we dont even know our assignments. I have never seen a group of DB's at LSU so totally clueless of what coverage we are in and where they are supposed to be. Yelling at each other after every play and agruing who was supposed to be where...

This is called hitting the nail on the head.

They should.

There is some talent there and Chavis has put together some good defenses.

I know some fair weather guys are bitching like school girls, but no reason to jump ship right now.

Why do some of you tards think Ole Miss is a Loss, did any of you even watch the Bama game

I did. And I'm not predicting an Ole Miss win, but they have an Ok offense (not apparent against Alabama for sure) that could give the Tigers trouble in Oxford. Likely that game looks a lot like LSU/Auburn after it's over. Similar score. Similar stats. I do think the Rebel's defense is at least equal to or maybe a little better than Georgia's.

As MIckey Guidry stated this morning on Hultberg's show, forget all the schemes and just go simple man to man. If you get beat you get beat but could be absolutely no worse than what we are doing now. I mean even tag football players can say, "Hey Wathch that guy and you watch that guy." Simplify things , can t to any worse.

When was Mickey Johnson a 5*??

And I agree the DBs look too confused in the coverages. Are they too complicated? I dont know. Its worked in the past. I doubt Chavis has changed his entire coverage scheme from last year to this year. Do our DBs not understand it and dont execute it and have no idea whats going on and where everybody is supposed to be? Def.

Its almost like a zone-man. If this WR goes here, the S jumps this there, and the CB jumps that here, and the LB drops to here. We didnt execute it, and looked lost a lot out there.

Dont need to be that creative in coverage. Just go cover 2 man. We have the LBs that can cover TEs/RBs. I know Jalen Mills can cover a WR man to man. Not sure what is going on with him. But last year the dude was really really good at single coverage. For a freshman last year, he was as good a pure cover CB that ive seen. This season, if there were no numbers and names on jerseys and you told me that this guy is Jalen Mills i would of laughed at you and called you a liar. He doesnt even resemble the CB I saw last year locking up WRs as a true freshman. AT ALL.

And in a cover 2 man if you get beat, you get beat because that WR made a play and beat you or that QB made a great throw. You didnt get beat because of a stupid mental error. And thats what ive been seeing this year. Mental mistkes and guys dont know where to go or what to do.

Simplify it. Go cover 2 man and get those creative blitzes going that Chavis has done so well with in the past.

We lost. The season isnt close to being over. We still control our own destiny. Take care of what we need to take care of and we will be playing UGA in the SECCG. I understand why everyone is freaking out with the D. I am too. But, just gotta stay levelheaded. We have 1 of the best,if not the best, DC in college football the last 15 or so years. I trust Chief to make the adjustments. Just gotta keep faith

Chavis gets paid the big bucks for a reason. They'll definitely improve, but it still won't be the same defense we as tiger fans are accustomed to

We don't have to be good on defense this year.
Just be good enough... Offense can carry us,

Get a fricking TO or two...geees.

Not much this year. So we need to play young players so as to have some experience next year! What we are playing this year is not working.

Don't have to do a whole helluva lot to improve from the bottom dwelling cellar they are in. Make a couple three and outs and thats improving. Will they get any better? Seriously doubt it.
