Is it better to have lived until your death loved or aborted and deprived of life and never having been loved?

It’s a challenging read well worth the effort.
Lewis played out the ideas put forth in Abolition of Man in the third novel of his Space Trilogy, That Hideous Strength.
Reading it again Lewis’s novel is eerily prophetic and accurate.

I tried mixing some cheap soft stuff for a while to add some flavor and gruel but ultimately went with Pure Balance grain free. Several by them are good combos mixing meats, fats and carbs.
I recall Lamb, Bison, wild Boar etc for meat and protein. It wasn’t expensive especially relative to Hills and the like and worked well for one of my dog’s sensitive skin issues. Wendy was a Golden/Lab mix 50/50 and was especially prone to skin issues. Using that for her issues, I just put my other three on it as well and fed them all with good chow reasonably priced.

re: How many pieces of jewelry can a gentleman get away with besides a watch and wedding ring?
Posted by Mr. Misanthrope on 1/3/26 at 4:47 pm to vistajay
Cuff links if you choose that look. If not sporting a wrist watch, a chain and fob for your pocket watch is acceptable. I’ve seen people who, beyond wedding and college ring, view a “pinky” ring suitable. I don’t because I think it’s pretentious and a bit foppish. Like they say, less is more.

A cursory skimming of the gospels and Paul’s epistles and letters will yield dozens of commandments that all 21st century American churches flat out ignore.
Unless people are quibbling over “dozens” of commandments I don’t know why you got downvotes for writing that.
Maybe people who disregard St. Paul’s instructions vis a vis head coverings?

Look at what Muslims are doing in and around these centuries old Christmas celebrations in Europe. That is not tolerance.
No it’s not. What ever they may say about Christ and Christians, Christmas really gets under the skin of Islamic Supremacists because it celebrates for twelve days the Feast of The Incarnation.
They cannot and will not tolerate it. It is a, if not the, distinguishing aspect of Christian doctrine from which all other doctrine and belief flow. God Incarnate. And it is this same Jesus who became flesh, whose gospel is converting people who were thought irredeemably lost and in places where few thought possible.
Which what was the original topic of OP’s thread until it was successfully hijacked by the usual suspects.
Jesus Christ is King of Kings, LORD of Lords, and the only God and Savior of Jews and Gentiles. There is no other name by which men and women can be saved from their sins and received into Christ’s Kingdom.

Cassidy in Louisiana is another. It’s nauseating.
From The Hill August 2025
quote:
Cassidy has looked to make amends with President Trump after he became one of seven GOP senators to vote to convict the president in his 2021 Senate impeachment trial after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
The two-term GOP senator has since tried to repair his relationship with the president, including backing some of Trump’s more controversial nominees, such as Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in his confirmation vote earlier this year.
The ads I’ve seen are replays of his previous campaign ads where he wrapped himself in the American flag and blathered on about he and President Trump were going to fix everything.

Never had before. Usually just took stuff to donate. GW or St. Vincent’s.
Went in one day to local GW and found a flawless Ralph Lauren tan fine wale corduroy sport coat that fit perfectly. About $12 if I remember correctly. Same with some pricy brand shirts. Those were about $5 or $6. I check them out now when I donate stuff maybe once a month.
St. Vincent’s had a flawless high end couch we got for about $100 and from GW a 10’ x 14’ rug that complimented it and the paint scheme we went with when renovating our condo. The rug was $65. They’re both in our living room now. Saved us a bundle and are way nicer than anything we’d seen new. What can I say? Mrs M is Scottish and her frugality is catching.:Casty:
GW has changed and they screen intake pretty carefully for valuable items and sell or auction them online. Gone are the days of finding Newcomb pottery or a Frederick Remington.
Now that I think about it, I did get a nicely framed Audubon Raven print from GW years back before they started screening intake.

She got me in trouble with the Prof in French class by copping my translation of a passage from Baudelaire or some such leaving me hanging on the subsequent passage I was a little shaky on.
He ranted on and on in high gay dudgeon trying to embarrass me with my ineptitude and lack of idiomatic fluency.
I threatened her with violence if she ever did shite like that again and then asked her to coffee at the Union.
I knew before the third cup. Nearly fifty years ago.

We will remember until the sea gives up her dead.
My Uncle Steve, my Mom’s sister’s husband, was dockside receiving and checking in containers of provisions when the explosion blew him out of his senses, off his feet, and into a bunch of crates and gear.
RIP Uncle Steve and Aunt Leona.

Your welcome.
I stumbled on that a few years ago. Good set. Minimal accompaniment. Stunning vocals. Powerful message. Great music for Advent and Christmas.
I’m glad you liked it.
