Do you remember coming up to the suite I had in the Dome during that year? My nephew is Scotty Jurich.

don't get me wrong i love the feel of an outdoor ballpark but there is just something unique about watching college ball in a dome

I would love for LSU to play in the tourny at Minute Made Park With a few good teams and proper marketing, it could be on TV

Wait a miniute we have a new ball park. Why don't we play a round robin with teams from the north, south, east and west. It would showcase our ballpark and help recruiting.

Rice, Univ of Houston, Baylor, A&M, UC Irvine, and UCLA are all playing at Minute Maid in a tournament this season. should be fun

They are doing great. Scotty just had a little girl (first child) about a year ago. Chad was on my football officiating crew a few years ago.

There were probably problems with the finances. LSU brought the fans but the greenies wanted all the money.
That was sort of it. LSU did bring most of the money in, but the three Louisiana schools would split the gate. Then, one year, Tulane made a bid to host a regional at Zephyr Field that was contingent on LSU not getting one. Their assumption was that, if LSU didn't get one, we'd be sent to theirs and they could rake in lots of dough from LSU fans. That pissed Skip off, even though we ultimately did get a regional that year, and he stopped doing the showdown.
Then, a few years later, he goes and signs a fricking 10-year home and home with them in football, helping them avoid having to disband their program, which was under serious consideration by their board just before that. Go figure.
They bite the hand that feeds them, and he went and fed them again! What a dumbass.

As usual, LSU opted out for monetary reasons.
And as usual, you are a stupid frick who doesn't have a clue what you're talking about. It was about Tulane trying to frick LSU over. Pure and simple. We NEVER asked for more than an even split of the W-D Showdown gate.

As usual, your name calling is elementary school at best, but only one downfall of your tirade. Virtually all here have agreed that LSU opted out becuse they wanted more money. If it is okay for LSU to want more money, then when the shoe is on the other foot (i.e., Tulane trying to host a regional with LSU in it to make money) than the shite hits the fan. Get over it.

I get stuff thrown at me all the time, but you are exactly right. Most LSU fans are so irrational they can't even see the hypocrisy in their statements. Tulane wanted to host a regional for all the right reasons. Why would they want to travel to another venue when they could host their own and rake in some nice dough. I think what you are saying is they only wanted to host a regional if LSU didn't get one. That is completely ridiculous, I would need some proof of that.
