What else would you expect from an LSU fuction?

Did y'all manage to keep your players out of jail this weekend?

I can't believe people are bitching about a FREE event, which is unheard of at LSU.

Sure did. Are we going to be able to understand what any of yours are saying this year if they give interviews?

It definitely was horrible planning, although I didn't do all that bad.
We got there at 10am and was along the wall in line right across the from the dipping dots concession. First line I got in was Les Miles, which I started in the 3rd set of rails away from his table. Took about 15 to get Coach LM to sign. Next, I headed over to the very long DB/Safeties table because I wanted Patrick Petersons signature. Finally got all of the DB's on that side after being in line for about 70 minutes.
I called my brother to see what line he was in, he told me he was in a line of traffic on I-10.
He told me after getting Les Miles signature, he walked around and could not find the end of any line, so he just left.
So me and a friend walked around and looked at the gift shop area for a bit, then with a half hour to go, we decided to just find a line and run the time out and see what happens. We ended up getting into a long line leading to the RB's table with Charles Scott. We ended up making it after all and as they were announcing it was over, I was at the end of the table with Quinn Johnson.
If I didn't get to the RB table, then it would have been a subpar and dissapointing experience, but somehow I squeezed that one in.

I think some of you people just like to bitch about anything. Last year it was 115 degrees on the field and the lines were one big cluster frick. Plus we weren't all stuffed in that hot arse tunnel for an hour, only to have people run onto the field in a mad dash for one autogragh. We got there at 11:30 and had no problem getting autograghs from the WR's, DB's and offensive and defensive coaches. My three year old got pictures with Trindon, D-Bird & Chad Jones. Last year I got two autograghs. Maybe next year get there early and you won't have theses kind of problems.

Every post you ever make is a bitch about something. I don't even follow this board on a daily basis like some and I know this.

Be sure you're by a t.v. on October 26th. There should be some great quotes from some Tigers. I can't wait for you frickers to get into town.

Don't take my posts as griping the whole time. I've just been saying that it can be done better. I'm not bitter, I just felt that it was not worth the hassel today after watching it all get started.
FWIW, I did better than you last year. My boys have photos with Holliday, Byrd, and many others that became big players last year. You say that you had no problem getting those autographs this year, but a four and a half hour wait for those autographs sounds like too much to me. Like I said before, if you started at the front of one line, you could make it to 2-3 lines. But if you didn't get there before 12:30, you were going to stand in 2 long lines for about 10 players.

Let me be the first to say that LSU will never have the fan day in the same place that they held it at today. I was there with my two boys at 1:20 (that's the fastest we could get there after church). I don't feel the least bit sorry for myself, because we waited in line until about 2:50, and noticed that we were going to get about 4 autographs/pictures at the most, so we left.
I walked into the line leading into the building at 1:35 and ended up with about 45 autographs...

You must be counting the cheerleader's and women's soccer team.

Choupique Mitch is right. The planning for this event was horrible, the room was too small, and the idea to split up positions was stupid.
LSU has no clue how to organize any event that might have a decent crowd. It is ran by too many students and people who need a power trip to make it in life.
I dont feel sorry for the men who are bitching about not getting autographs but for the kids who get their hopes up and have to leave without getting anything, its sad. I know the players dont wanna be out there all day long, and props for them moving it inside but it just gets worse each year.

Last year on the field I was able to get over 50 autos and had no trouble with the lines.
This year I was at the front of the line for the table with Pittman and Clemons and made it through there in about one minute. After that I was able to get throught the DB line with Jones and Peterson in about 45 minutes. I went to the WR table with T. Tolliver and the Mitchell boys after that. Over the whole deal I managed 17 autos for the day. I had 1 hour last year and 1 1\2 hours this year. This way just doesn't work and hopefully they will resort back to what we had.
For the guy last year who only managed one auto means you were standing in Miles or Dorsey's line and in that case you got what you went for. To walk away with one auto was your own fault. I got 50 including the likes of K Williams, Holliday, Tolliver, Favorite, Doucet, Flynn....ect. I skiped out on Dorsey because that line was unreal, one sideline to the other and wrapped around.
Considering LSU fans and even players read this site, why not complain here. Voices will be heard and maybe we won't have another repeat of what happened today.

Free parking, air conditioning, not a chance of rain and people are still upset. When there are that many fans it is unreasonable to think that you will get every player's signature.
Considering that everything except for concessions and merchandise was free, people are doing a lot of bitching about all the work and effort that people put in.
Not to mention these athletes came out on a Sunday to sign autographs for a couple hours. Unreasonable people some of you.

Email your concerns to the athletic department. They will read your concerns, reply to them, and take appropriate actions if necessary for next year.
They've always been great about taking suggestions and using them. I'm not saying you're doing this, but I've seen it many times in the past where people gripe just for the sake of griping but take no actions to correct whatever it is that they're griping about.
So, that said, email the athletic department and maybe fan day will be more enjoyable next year. There's no perfect way to do anything, but I guarantee you they will take all suggestions and try to implement the ones that are feasible.
Also, FWIW ... I thought it was about as organized as an event such as that could possibly be actually. The only thing that I can think of that would alleviate everyone's concerns would be to turn it into a 5-8 hour session instead of the 1.5 hour deal that it is ... and I don't see that happening, nor should it. The more I think about it, I guess it could happen ... maybe something like this
Oline at 1pm
Dline at 2pm
RBs at 3pm
Dbacks at 4pm
WRs at 5pm
QBs at 6pm
LBs at 7pm
Coaches at 8pm
This would do two things: 1) Everyone wouldn't ALL show up right at the beginning and it be a huge cluster f*&k and 2)That way the players and coaches don't have to be there all day, but maybe it would spread the crowd out over the course of the day. that's my idea i guess with some of the more "sought after" positions (QBs and Coaches) being later in the day where some people could come earlier with their kids and possibly leave yet still have fun and get what they want and there wouldn't be as big of a crowd there later in the evening for the Qbs and coaches. There's all kind of problems that would be caused by this setup as well ... and it kind of brings me full circle ... there's no perfect way to put on an event such as this, but the fact that they are trying and trying to improve it every year is good enough for me.

i worked this event around the WR table and everything seemed to go better than expected except for the last few minutes. The WR were great too about staying around and signing things for kids after time was up. Not a bad day only problem was too small of building, and a coke and snickers costing me $5.50
