WOW are you saying Les Miles is a better coach then Saban,

Posted on 4/21/09 at 7:50 pm to mlttiger
And Jim Grobe definitely deserves top 10 status, he was the first coach since 1950 to have an overall winning record, that is 50 years w/o having a winning coach, that is very impressive, and signs of a great coach, more so then taking over a big time program like LSU and winning a national championship, IMO
But I agree that Les Miles prolly is better than 28th, but by no stretch is he top 10
ETA: Not to mention Wake Forest is a private school, w/ enrollment of 7000 including under and post graduate studies

Les has wins over the following-
1.Urban Meyer
3.nic (i'll leave for greener grass) saban
9 Frank Beamer
10 Mark Richt-after this year
11 Jim (i can't win out of the small 10) Tressel
17 Houston (i have no) Nutts
18 Steve Spermier
WTF? He is top 10 imo.

The only people on that entire list that I would even consider taking over Miles if given the chance, including on-field performance, fit at LSU, character, and a general feeling of "I like that guy" are ...
ETA - You'll notice I've left some damn good football coaches off my list for one reason or another. In the case of Urban Meyer, I just don't like his recruiting antics and general persona, although he's a great coach, I just wouldn't want him at LSU. I may be wrong because I don't know him personally, but he comes across as a piece of shite concerned only about one thing ... winning.
Ferentz, Grobe, Brain Kelly, and Beamer in the Top10 are a joke. At least Beamer has earned his high regard, although I still see him as a perennial underachiever and late-season choke-artist, not to mention he looks lost on the sidelines quite often.

4. Pete Carroll, USC.

10. Mark Richt, Georgia.
13. Jim Tressel, Ohio State.
21. Steve Spurrier, South Carolina.
23. Greg Schiano, Rutgers.
29. Chris Petersen, Boise State.

Just b/c you beat a coach doesn't mean you are better than them, that is awful logic

The whole list is a subjective piece of shite.

I'd like to know what logic you use to say that there is no way Les belongs in the top 10 coaches.
On second thought, no I don't. Miles bashers are Miles bashers and will find any reason to fault him for anything.

To most people, yes. To me, no. I want a good face for the program.
Don't get me wrong, that face needs to win, but not appear that winning is all that he cares about.

2. Bob Stoops: No coach can match his four BCS title game appearances.
Or number of losses. Oh, maybe Jim Tressel can.
I'll take Miles over those two chokers any day.

I really dont like les miles but this list has to have been written by some of the posters here. It is so rediculous it has got to be a joke, or atleast should be.

After we win another National Championship, they can have their rankings, we will add another trophy to the case.
I am just fine if Rivals doesn't like our coach when the team is winning.

WoW, that's a real slap in the face to Miles, the only reason I think they put him in there was because of the NC, and it shows you how players make coaches, if Tebow doesn't go to Florida, Meyers doesn't win shite.

wow houston nutt above les miles

Saban has taken two schools and turned them around.
