If there was ever an LSU coach & team that had something to prove to all the fans that have been criticizing them, it would seem that Bama would be just the game to do that....We'll see.
Unfortunately, a lot of you are comfortable with saying "we only lost by 7 pts to the #4 team in the country"....This seems more like the direction Les Miles is taking his teams.

So what you're saying is that LSU, under Saban, was never an elite team. Yet LSU, under Miles, is an elite team?
yeah, of course, b/c Saban lost 3 games in 2004.
This dude is a joke.
no, 2004 was saban's actual second best year.....in terms of losses...
I think lsu had one elite year with saban....and another good year with him in 2001.....I don't think 2004 was anywhere close to elite with the talent lsu had on that team...which was brought in by saban but obviously not coached up by him.....
I think miles has had three elite teams.....since three times he has finsihed in the top 5.......against one for saban.....and miles is working on this 4th time this year....count on it.....
Just curious.....beings i am a joke and all and come with facts instead of opinion.....what will you guys say this year after miles takes HIS team and beats saban and HIS team......?

grampsfan128, you never commented on the Saban vs Miles records for the past 3 seasons.
Posted on 10/27/10 at 12:30 pm to TigerFan128
amen, TigerFan128!!! most of these people have no idea how lucky they are to have really good LSU teams...they should have been around when Mike Archer took the program 100 years backward...some of the posters really showed their intelligence; for instance, The Godfather ("I stoped reading")??? if you can't spell, maybe you shouldn't post... and how about CharlesLSU & NicoBlues: yall have a real way with words (so long as they start with an "f")...and Cigtyme: no, you are the idiot...

The bama game imo is the biggest game so far for les miles.....even more than the championship game...he can quiet a lot of this bs with a win...

I guess you can call me a kid. I'm 28. I have been watching LSU football since I was a very little kid, as I'm sure a lot of the ranters have. I'll chime in with my opinion.
In 5 years at LSU, Saban went 48-16.
In 5 years at LSU, Miles went 51-15.
Saban was 3-2 in bowl games.
Miles was 4-1 in bowl games.
Saban lost to Va. Tech 26-8 in 2002.
Miles beat Va. Tech 48-7 in 2007.
Saban was blown out by Alabama (31-0) and Auburn (31-7) in 2002. Miles has never been blown out that badly. (2008 Florida was pretty bad, but not that bad.)
For those who say Miles inherited a Top 5 team, LSU finished #16 the year Saban left.
For those who say Miles won with Saban's players, Saban won with Dinadro's players.
In Saban's first year, he lost to UAB. In his first year at Alabama, he lost to ULM.
Saban is a great coach, no arguements here. Miles makes mistakes, no arguements here. Is Saban that much better than Miles though? I don't think so. Miles is dumb at times, and he obviously doesn't pick his coaching staff well, but he continues to win year after year after year. We're still having a good year. Do you know how many teams would love to be 7-1 right now? I'm proud to be a Tiger, and I stand beside Miles.

last 2 seasons plus this season so far.
Saban 33-3 overall
21-2 in the SEC
1-1 in SECCG
1-1 in BOWL GAMES including 1 NC
Miles 24-10 overall
12-9 in the SEC
0 SECCG's
1-1 in bowl games
Yeah, Saban has had a couple more WTF type losses than Miles, but it sure looks like 1 coach is superior, while the other coach is mediocre.
ETA: Saban/Bama still control their own destiny this season...Mile/LSU does not.
first of all, this was a thread about what saban did at lsu compared to what miles did at lsu. It had and has absolutely nothing to do with what saban has done at alabama.........
clearly alabama has performed better than lsu the past two years.....the first year of saban they didn't (which you chose to leave out..lol)....this year is still very much up for grabs and I LOVE the chances of lsu against bama this year.....clearly....bama has lost 9 games since saban has arrived there while during the same span miles has lost 12 games at lsu....both have won a NC and one major bowl game....
i guess my questin to you, since you are clearly in love with saban and bama....is why not jump ship....seriously.....

it was 5-3 in sec in 2009 btw....
True. Still worse than 6-2.

lmao...not only does this kid choose to leave out 2005-2007 in his analysis
2004: 6-2
2005: 7-1
2006: 6-2
2007: 6-2
2008: 3-5
2009: 5-3
Now tell me again how 2004 was such a bad year that it can be used as evidence that LSU was not that good under Saban.
quote:
just you guys totally lose site of his actual accomplishments at lsu.

2 SEC championships in 5 years. 1st NC since 1958. Took over after abysmal late 90s and turned LSU into a recruiting powerhouse and consensus top 5 program. Oh, but that's right, he lost on a Hail Mary to Iowa as a lame-duck in 2004 so that means LSU was just mediocre while he was here.
Also, calling everyone a kid makes you sound like a complete dipshit. I kind of hope that someone keys your car today.

After reading ALL the posts on this rant... I do believe that US OLD FOLKS.. are the only ones who CAN go back all the way to 1959 (I was little but I remember my dad going to the games)and what the younger kids don't understand is that there have ALWAYS been those who sat on the sidelines and put down the team for ANYTHING that went wrong, and overlooked any of the good! Nowadays, with the internet and the capability of posting things and staying virtually unknown, it has become easy for people to write anything they want (ex: monkey f@#king a football??? give me a break). The fact is if they took the time to truly study the entire history of LSU football, they would see that we are NOT considered mediocre. We are written about (and have been for years) as Elite! But because people constantly POST things and people read these POSTS, they really think that these opinions becomes facts, because they read it!! There is nothing wrong with disagreeing, but sometimes people just need to give it a rest! Psychology 101: Positive things are not suppose to cause a negative emotion! What exactly is it that upsets some of these bloggers when they read something positive about LSU????I don't get it! It is almost like it makes them Angry that anyone has hope or belief that it will turn out good! Sometimes their automatic response it to go into an obsene (usually shows signs of incompetence) rant! Intelligent people can usually disagree when they state facts or just opinions without using obsene language! If you can't....you show your ingnorance!!! For or Against what someone says...just show that you have at least common courtesy and half a brain!

These are straight overall offensive numbers. 2007 when GC took over for JF we were 9, but prior we were always better than 40th in total offense. 2008 GC 1st year we were in 50's, 2009 100's, and now we are in the mid 70's. How in anybody's mind is GC doing his job. If JL was here in 07 and JJ was here in 08 and we are 112 and 76 respectively when JL was in the system for 3 years, and JJ was in it for 2 tears. If GC was a wizard or a great coach one of these 2 young men should be a serviceable SEC QB. I am not a young in as earlier tards have implicated. I am just fed up of watching poor offensive football. How does CLM as a head coach realize the defense is going the wrong way, but not notice the offense might be slipping just a bit. Also this damn CEO bit is tiresome. He is not a CEO coach. A good CEO would realize the earnings potential and get people in place that could make him good earnings. CLM is a McDonald's Manager style coach, he figure he can just put anyolebody on the frier machine and put out fries!!!

i hope you are in your first year of school...your reasoning skills are bad. I never said 2004 was a bad year. I simply said it wasn't elite, especially given the unreal talent we were suppose to have on that team that year.....it was, however, the second best year of the saban era, and certainly not elite...that was my argument just to help you out.
