So your thinking is that he is doing these things great and the body language is to throw the other team off or something?

And our back-up plan in Gilbert was ready to go
No way Gilbert was our "back up plan". Not against OSU. He was expecting to enter in the middle innings and Hess would close. PM went all in and expected Walker to pitch at least 6 innings. Once we lost him so early, we were done.

He was about the closest we had if our starter was going to go less than 5 innings.

You didn't suggest any actual in game changes or baseball strategy, except for maybe starting Poche. You want to switch a guy in the line up, I bet that is what we have been missing. What you really want Canizzaro or O'Sullivan coaching our team because they can hammer curl 75's.
Canizzaro's actions and facial expressions put a ton of confidence in his teams, so much confidence that they are at home.

What? My thinking is that you're trying to make something an issue that isn't an issue and/or making up something to complain about because you can't rationally wrap your head around why we haven't played very well the last 2 games.

I think pitching Poche against OSU would have been huge especially knowing what we know now....but I don't think this teams problems can ultimately be fixed by starting a different pitcher here or there or by moving the lineup.

If you don't get it you probably won't get it and it certainly isn't my job to spell it out for you.

ETA It's alright though ya'll go ahead and go back to criticizing 18-21 year old kids for changing their hair color while you give Molinari a pass on everything outside of murder.
I've never done anything remotely resembling criticizing players for doing stuff with their hair. I've done the exact opposite, actually. Let them have fun and loosen up.
Now, what exactly has Mainieri done the last two games for which he shouldn't get a pass? Besides you not liking how he looks, I mean.

Alright motivation plays no part in winning and performing well in baseball....I got it.
Now you guys can go back to ragging on Kramer's shoes and hair.

It doesn't matter....it's like people associated with LSU are married to coaches and they can do no wrong.
Players...way different story but coaches....oh no they are untouchable.

You are really stretching the complaints about CPM.

I really only have two....bench coaching ability and ability to motivate players.

You're basically saying "I can't point out a single material issue with anything Mainieri has done, but I just don't like it". Very insightful.

Mainieri can and has done wrong in the past (see: handling of bullpen in 2014 regional). Miles can and did do wrong and was rightfully fired. Jones crashed and burned and was rightfully fired. I apologize for asking you to list a single material thing Mainieri has done wrong in the last 2 games. Seems a lot to ask of you.
For the record, I don't ever call out and shite on players, especially not for doing things like bleaching their hair or collecting shoes. They're college kids FFS. I did exponentially dumber things in college than die my hair.

I think the staff came up with a great plan coming into to the tournament. In game 1, you saw the plan work perfectly, especially the pitching moves.
In Game 2 however, the plan was disrupted by an unforeseen injury. Sure you could say that they should have known that Walker was sore leading up and shouldn't have counted on him for gave 2 BUT his arm felt fine for a few days leading up to the game so you can't really blame the decision to start him. When the plan fell through, Gilbert was plan B and for a little while it looked like all was well. Then Gilbert began to falter and this is where the staff's decision making went south.
We bring out bush and are quickly down 3-0. After bush the coaches decided to trot out Peterson. This is the point where you have to shake your head. Only down 3 runs, you need to bring out your best pitchers to try and win the game. Newman or Hess should have been called on, not Peterson. The second you put Peterson in the game, you are telling your team that you don't have faith in them to overcome a 3 run deficit and in turn, the team begins to lick their wounds and take the beating of a lifetime.
With the score 4-0 abd the bases juiced, we decide to waste Newman and he gives up the Bomb that sealed our fate. Once Peterson was thrown out there, we shouldn't have used any more legitimate arms the rest of the way. You already told the team that you don't think they can win and now you've gone and messed with the confidence of one of your 4 quality relievers.
Only time will tell if saving Hess was the right call but if you ask me, he should have entered the game after Gilbert.
I give the coaches an A+ for the plan going in and a D- for in game decisions.

How can we not have a better bat at DH?
Posted on 6/21/17 at 2:03 pm to sweetwaterbilly
I agree Beau is killing us. Get 2 strikes on him with a high inside and a straight high ball and throw a curve low and away-sucker for it every time!!!!!!

No I get it, you want to lay blame for the LSU loss and poor play. The problem is you can't really point to a coaching decision or in game move, so you have to go with subjective unquantifiable bullshite about how Manieri acts in the dugout.

Ridiculous....but if you are looking for specifics (regardless of the fact that this trend has been going on for ump-teen years now)...how about going to bat for Cole Freeman when he was called out stealing 2nd when he was clearly safe. I mean maybe at least stand up and yell???
Like I said earlier I'm sure that doesn't make a shite bit of difference to you so what the hell does it matter....
