Washington was about what I expected. I am not quite that optimistic on the rest of Washingtons season. Will win some but not as good as they looked.

LSU imho could have opened it up on offense a bit by being a little more daring and crative and put up a ton of points. CS up the middle is not going to be our forte this year. Defensively we could have done a much better job if the coaches had been more agressive with more man to man.

LSU can improve immediately if the stupid coaches will just call a better game. The depressing thing is that our D sucked last year only because of the coaching. This year we change DC and the stupid bastard makes the same fricking mistakes that were made last year. How depressing is that.

I disagree, it's not like you were so far out in front that you were calling vanilla plays to slow down. Up until about 5 min were left we had a legit chance to pull off a HUGE upset.

I don't think Les said, "hmmm I know we could put up 55 pts but i think we'll just keep it close."

You will never make rantTARDS understand this.

I don't think they know what vanilla is.

The Wing T is vanilla, not tonight's scheme.

I don't think Les/Crowton thought that either. But if we had opened it up we could have scored 21 more points I would guess. Point is why do I see that and other people here see that but the offensive coordinator doesn't. That is what is depressing. Could have but didn't... not by concious decision to hold down the score.

I was at the game. Washington has great fans. They stayed to the end and cheered the last touchdown, even though it didn't matter. Then, they cheered their team as they left the field. I think some of the LSU fans on this board could learn something from them.

Yes had we opened it up we might have put up 20 more points, but it would have been higher risk play calling (increasing UW's chance for an upset rather than a moral victory).

I will say it again... Don't give too much weight to the first game of the seaon. It was a win... that's good enough for now.

A unexpectedly tough win in an opener isn't such a bad thing for a team. Maybe for some fans it is, because all their expectations based on hope and hype are deflated. As this game unfolded, it became apparent that Washington had a legitimate chance, so I was glad to see the Tigers drive the length of the field for a late game-sealing TD. Today's Tiger fan has a hard time celebrating an escape win, which I can understand this. Watching Washington control the ball for almost two-thirds of the game, I came away thinking this isn't a team that's going to beat Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss and Alabama. But with as much talent as there is on this LSU roster, I'm willing to wait and see.

Well I was more reffering to the rematch we have scheduled with you all. When alot of those true freshman we started tonight will be fully acclimated and we have Nick Montana running our offense.

Congrats. Washington was great last night. Don't get too excited about the rematch though. This won't happen again. We're not worried about Tony Montana or anything else. The stars sort of lined up for you guys last night....Great game though.

UW is a good team. Much better than we thought. They were jacked about their new coach. He's good.

LSU played much better in the 2nd half. A lot of third downs were converted by Locker scrambling. I'm not sure, but Bob Davey may have mentioned that Locker runs a sub 4.4 a few thousand times. Also, most quarterbacks we'll face won't have pins in their hand.

Once we stopped running Scott up the gut on every play, we moved the ball.

JJ played a good game - no turnovers - good game management. He came up with some clutch throws on that last drive.

KW - good game - great cuts - he showed some real skill. We'll see more of him.

PP = the man

rest of the defense = not so much

The D in the first half was absolutely pitiful. That soft zone garbage is infuriating. How many 3rd and long's did they convert? Why do the safeties have to line up 20 yards off the ball? I think I'm going to hate Chavis.

Side note: Washington: Nice uniforms!

Impressed with your quarterback. Washington outplayed LSU. Lot to work on. You have to be positive that your season is going to be a lot better than last year. Good luck.

Congrats on Washington being a much better team then last year.

Its early in the season and I hope the Tigers play much better for the rest of the season. There were some things that I really didn't like from last night.......... They don't seem like things that will be changing though.

Absolutely.

UW is a much improved team this year. If they don't win 7 games, I'll be surprised. They have some legit weapons.

I give Washington the props they earned. They played like a real team, unlike last year. The offensive play calling was also good on the Washington side. Washington will be in the Pac-10 pack for sure. At this point you have as good a chance as anybody out there of upsetting USC.

Agree. LSU had some pretty tired horses in the 4th quarter.

Some of us older LSU fans have been where the Washington fans are. We sat through the Archer, Hallman and DiNardo years.
