I've taken summer classes at LSU. He very well could have posted a 4.0 without attending class.

Zach Lee wasn't the first kid to choose baseball over college football and he surely won't be the last one. All LSU fans are left with is what ifs. He was a damn fine qb prospect and had all the tools to be a really good SEC qb. But, when that kind of money is put in front of you, you are foolish to say no. You can return and get a degree. For the kid it is a no brainer. For the fans of LSU it hurts because he was, in all likelyhood a better qb than either Lee or Jefferson.
Remember that this hit LSU badly once before. In 1973, Mike Miley left to sign with the Angels after Charlie Mac had installed the veer option just for Miley's skill set. Again, all those who remember that far back will tell you that the veer with Miley at qb would have been damn near unstoppable. Without him it sank because Carl Otis Tremble could run like a deer but his passing skills were worse than Jennings.
So, Zach Lee regrets nothing. He can get his degree in the off season and he still gets paid to play AAA ball and a good chance to make the bigs.

everything I recall reading said he never attended class, Sonny Shipp said this a while back as well
Did you read the link? "Enrolled in summer school at LSU in June of 2010 and made a 4.0 while taking six hours"
Whether he physically attended class or not, he was enrolled and the clock started.

thats for full time fall or spring enrollment. he only took a couple summer classes, eligibility hasnt started for him yet.

hey maybe next time before trying to come off as a know it all asswipe, know the rule for sure. Sound good?

was replying to urnog, he was wondering what lees eligibility status was.
speaking of asswipes...
the clock doesnt start for part time summer school. unless the rule has changed since 2008 when i was recruiting small college ball.
im not debating it, im just tellin your dumb arse.
you must one of those cajun or yat pussies who get all riled up over everything, even when no one is talking to you.

Yes, I was wrong about the eligibility clock starting at summer school. Found that: "This “five-year-rule” begins the first time you enroll in 12 units and
attend the first day of class." I was definitely wrong on that and learned something new today.
However, everything you were saying was that he never enrolled or he never attended class. You were also wrong.
So frick off.

I wasn't matter of fact about it, going purely off memory.

Question, couldn't Zach Lee pull a Chris Weinke or Quincy Carter and come back to LSU?
Posted on 2/20/15 at 2:56 pm to JBeam
absolutely. guess we'll see what his options are after this season. is his contract up after this year? thats why im assuming it would be after this season.

You couldn't use examples of people who actually did this at LSU? In the last 15 years LSU has had two quarterbacks who played pro baseball before playing college football.

I'm friends with Zach. He's been seeing a doctor because he can't sleep at night, full of regret for being a millionaire instead of playing QB for Les. TIFWIW

I guess he could've always played in a Les Miles offense and make league minimum and get the shite beat out of him in the NFL and make less money.
Or get paid millions to hold a clip board like Flynn.

Zach Lee can end up being an average MLB starter and take home just as much money as if he was one of the best QB's in the NFL
And the money will be GUARANTEED guare
I wouldn't exactly look at his numbers and say he's done from the year before. Adam Wainwright (not saying Lee is in the same stratosphere) had an awful AAA year too.
THe PCL league is tough. He will be pitching at OKC this year, which should be a slightly better environment.
PLus, he showed major promise at AA Chattanooga the year before. IF he can keep getting ground balls, with his frame/mechanics/athleticism he could become a 4th starter and an inning eater in MLB for at least 5-6 years, if not longer. That will give him a salary of around 500k GUARANfrickINGTEED all that time and a good pension package plus his signing bonus.
That seems a lot more promising than a Les Miles QB.
