Realistically guys, don't be bummed out if he doesn't come out breathing fire and crapping solid gold. I think he'll do good this year, but koreso on the back end of the season. Sure, we have the soft schools early, which could be stat padders and confidence builders, but how much can we really expect? Throw Scam Newton out and look at other JUCO Qbs coming into big time conferences. Who else has done really well their first year that I could read up on and change my tune?

Les should have kicked jj off the team to set example, played Lee with Mett getting reps and experience.
Hindsight I know, but the table was set for that to happen. If it did, the worst case would be you loose to us the 1st game and end the year ranked #2 on a long win streak with a seasoned QB to start this year.
In retrospect (and right, in hindsight), this was the answer Loyal....
It pains me to say, but I think Saban may have kicked off JJ, or if not, given him a token chance and if he f-ed up, put Mett as the back-up immediately.....
One thing I don't necessarily agree with Les on is his staunch loyalty to seniors.....

even if not to this extreme, there were plenty of opportunities for Mett to have gotten experience and develop... but you need to remember, we do not seem to want to develop players.

Actually, that would have cost LSU an SEC Championship. So, if you don't think LSU would have won the BSC NCG, Les actually made the right call at QB.
