Terrible. It's cold as balls now so maybe the run starts on the next one...

Winter Storm Eris looks like it may creep into the NE, that could produce a sizable draw.

This thing should keep tanking, and I don't think the next report will stop the bleeding.

COLD for the east next week. This could be the pattern that you guys have been hoping for. Best of luck!

ETA--An example of how strong this front is expected to be:

1) Columbus, OH 50/15 on Sunday, 14/0 on Tuesday
2) New York City will be below freezing for 4 or 5 days.
3) Upper teens in Alabama
4) Mid 20s for south Louisiana.

Update: Looks like the coldest air will drop into the Midwest and extend to the gulf cost, but the east coast will still be below freezing for several days starting on Monday.

Wed highs/Thurs morning lows
Minneapolis 1/-11
Des Moines 1/-6
Chicago 3/-2
St Louis 12/5
Little Rock 34/18
Charlotte 28/19
Atlanta 34/21
Banner Elk, NC 19/-6 (just for fun)

Thurs morning: 24 in Baton Rouge with a high of only 42 Thurs afternoon.

ETA: Here's a newer GFS model for Thursday.
