My assumption would be that the big money analyst and such have known about this for a little while and it's already priced into the stock so to speak.

I don't think what they're announcing is some breakthrough technology.
Just like fracing technology improvements over the last 15 years, re-fracing technology improvements have been going on for 10 of those years. They're simply announcing that they are starting to balance re-fracs with net-new wells to diversify onshore recovery. Makes sense.

So....too late is the consensus. Should have assumed that.

Consensus is governments around the world will continue to put the screws to big oil. Even if they’re making money they’ll have a reduced multiple.
So any big improvements in fracking costs or production will likely have minimum impacts.
