Invest in the S&P 500.
I wish I had learned this sooner in life.

Not globally diversified with that strategy and you also miss out on small caps and value tilts you can add as well.
Buy VT/VTWAX for global exposure and put 1%-20% of your portfolio, depending on your appetite for risk, in individual stocks you have a very firm conviction can 10x or more.

The largest companies are mostly global even if they have a US bias on HQ location. If you want greater tilts to a portfolio, of course there are endless ways to achieve it.

International has trailed U.S. in a huge way last several decades. I'm in some international but it cant be denied its performed much worse than the U.S. market for decades now. What gives me pause is places like China basically emasculating their own economy with extreme covid measures going into 2023 now even (and committing to it for a long time). Government interference is a big deterrent to me to put any significant sum of money in foreign markets. All it takes is a controlling government to ruin anything good going on.
Also, investing in S&P 500 does give you a decent exposure to worldwide influenced companies anyways, just American based ones.

I do like the runs in small caps and have a decent chunk of my portfolio in there. You hit the lower valleys but the highs are pretty euphoric.
