They really want to control the think tank stuff out there. Especially with all the so called conspiracy theories with Covid coming true.
Internet has allowed people to communicate and learn without a state run media. This was done on purpose to test reaction. They want to move globally on this with a social credit score system which they are already piloting.

Once they lose a customer, I would think it will be difficult to regain that account as the person will have found an alternative payment mechanism. Their next earnings report will be interesting, as they'll need to disclose a material change in accounts.
They're also going to run into an issue with businesses. Tim Pool mentioned last night that he's lost a bunch of legacy PayPal customers (he no longer uses it on his site but permits existing accounts to continue with autopays). Questioned whether businesses have a recourse against PayPal due to their actions.

Good point, I chose not to re up with Hulu after the divorce. But then again, most of the subscription based services are on PayPal's team.
