Edward Jones is a solid starter, but it is my understanding that they are not going to provide you very much more than you could do for yourself, except someone to talk to.
I would look at some brokers who worked for Edward Jones, but then went out on their own. Mine did that and we discuss options and more advanced trading strategies.
He also charges a flat fee so we can move in and out the market as needed.
