My physics 1 professor in 2010 told us about Tesla. It was about $50 then. I thought he was crazy. Welp...

millennials are pushing this shite through the roof just like they did with bitcoin because hardly any of them have any sense of reality when if comes to analyzing stocks and instead they buy off hype (aka the "pump" before the dump)

and don't "ok boomer" me as i am a millennial myself

institutions move stocks, not retail, and especially not poor millennials.

Jaguar last week had to halt production of the I-Pace for a bit due to battery production issues.

This week it's the Audi e-Tron doing the same.

The talk usually goes something like once the big boys get in the game they'll catch up to Tesla quickly.

Anyone honestly still believe that? If so, why?

This comes down to the supply of batteries. It is what is holding everyone back. Ehoever can come up with new batteries that take less or more abundant resources will take over. From what I've read, Which is limited, tesla is ahead of the game in coming up with new batteries.

Yep, many seem to just assume the other companies will just catch up easily once they commit to it but I don't really see why that's a given.

Speaking of batteries/range, one thing many expressed concerns about when the Cybertruck was announced was how carrying a payload would have an adverse effect on range. Granted, that never made sense to me because that issue isn't exclusive to electric vehicles, but I digress.

One cool thing Elon mentioned was that the truck will recalculate your range based on the payload, as well as a few other things. This is a response to someone asking about a payload/towing calculator:

quote:

Yes, will also show real-time changes to max acceleration, braking, cornering, speed on gradient & range, latter factoring in route elevation changes & cargo or tow mass & drag impact

Same thing happens with gas. Tesla is known for constantly tweaking software and extending range. Cant wait for my cyber truck

(profit/loss ration of almost 4:1..which is pretty good to me)

in summary...you bought high homez.
but if planning to hold long term it doesnt really matter

I dont think he bought high. Considering it's up over $2000 since this post.

I've tried to ask if he is still holding or sold. I think he just might have been joking about buying implying that $357 was a ridiculously high price.

China about to ramp up battery production with no environmental oversight. Like solar, they’ll bury American production with new administration.

Tesla just hit a new all time high. Does it run past 600 before settling again?

I had been a non believer in Tesla for years, simply because i was looking at it as an automotive company, when it's really a technology company.

I bought 2k shares 2 months ago at $375.
It's currently at $500. That $600 is just around the corner, hopefully.
