Land purchase options

Potentially looking at buying a few acres of land near my current home. Long term plan is to just hold onto it and gift it to the kids down the road or possibly even build a new home on it in years to come. What would be the best option to purchase? Land loan? I know interest rates are super inflated right now. Although I normally wouldn't even entertain the thought of pulling money out of my retirement, would that be a better option right now?

Depends on the number of acres but general guidelines:
Get the land surveyed
Have an environmental governmental report at a minimum - ask appraiser about phase 1
Know the ingress and egress
Understand utility right of ways
Know about mineral royalties ownership
Have an attorney that represents YOU - not the seller’s attorney and not the bank’s attorney
Have that attorney’s office check title
Research and know your future neighbors
Understand zoning or lack of zoning - sucks when someone throws up a LIHTC next to you
Financing - depends on where land is located go with the smallest local bank
Rates are going to suck right now.

Depends on acres but you may want to look at a credit union or farm credit instead of a regular bank.

My plan is to go as far away as possible from any Democrat run entity.

By 2045, they’ll be more people in the wagon than are pulling the wagon everywhere in the US.
