I put on a massive reopening trade beginning in late October. The last two weeks took back all of those gains and more. That is the last time I will ever hold massive gains for tax purposes. I guess the best way to ensure the lowest taxes is by not having any gains.

Buy low and sell high

This includes tourniquets and gauze...

I’m moving all my funds to cash until everything balances out.

Before last week, I was up to a +36% YTD on my 401k, and been bouncing between 30-35% all year.

Now I’m dipped to +22% YTD.

Love all the fear. Starts pointing to me as a nice buying opp on fundamentally good stocks that get oversold.

I'm going shopping.

yea what was the real reason for the selloff this AM? media says covid fears but that's just not reality

I really can't see them raising interest rates but maybe?

none of this makes much of any sense

In all seriousness the left leaning sources are blaming it on COVID so they can blame the right leaning people who have been more lenient on vaccine requirements. Right leaning sources are pointing more towards inflation concerns and the fed mulling raising rates to keep it in check.

And somewhere in the middle it’s more than likely a combination of both Covid and inflation worries.

I was in cruise stocks and oil. Rekt is harsh, but actually an understatement.

You are about two weeks late. Those stocks started running about two weeks ago.

It’s almost like government fear mongering about corona tanks the market. Interesting

They think we're reaching peak growth combined with the news of COVID cases rising.

Wouldn't now make for a better buying opportunity considering he waited for stocks to drop lower than they were last week at the beginning of the sell off?

I moved an big old 401k from a previous employer into my fidelity account around the end of January 2020. It was an insane couple of months at work until the lockdowns, so I left it in a money market account for a couple of months until I figured out how I wanted to invest...which didn't happen until mid March.

My irresponsible and slow action was to my benefit for once. Pure dumb luck.
