i just got the amex blue cash preferred in yesterday. 6% cash back on groceries and 3% on gas is the main reason i wanted it. did the math and it works out to where i pretty much get a month of groceries for free.

one nice little tidbit was that in my approval letter it said that my equifax credit score was 822. i knew it was around 800 but wasnt expecting that.
Waiting to here back right now. i think my credit score is around that range so I hope I get approved.

im sure you will . i only got a $3500 limit but i dont really need more than that. i spend at most $600 on groceries and and $100 on gas.

for those that have amex's, how often do you run into a place that doesnt accept amex? looking at the amex gold or capital one venture to put most of my expenses on. dont want to get a card if i cant use it all the time

I was approved for the Amazon credit card today.

Put this number in your phone 800-493-3319. That's their sapphire phone line. They will help you with any card. ALL AMERICAN people on that line and you're connected instantly.

I have Amex gold, I hardly ever run into places that don't accept it but I also live in DC so it may be a bit different where you are. I have a Visa for places that don't accept but I try to use cash a lot too.

Not often. Usually it's your smaller local businesses that do low cost transactions. Some gas stations (not often at all) dont take Amex at the pump. I carry a visa as a backup.

Almost never. The last place I ran into that didnt take Amex was a corn dog stand at the Houston rodeo.

Just activated my capital one venture. Where do you find their monthly deals. Like someone said 5% off gas and groceries for the month and another month something else?

It's reliable, but it's not your true FICO score.

How much would you say the credit karma score differs from your FICO score? Would it be worth the money to check my FICO score?

The venture doesn't have that. That was about the chase card and Discover.

Journey Student Rewards

No Annual Fee, always a plus. You're (probably) not going to be spending enough warrant paying $75/yr for a credit card to make it count.

%1 cash back. Not great, but gives you an additional %25 of the %1 if you pay on time. Good incentive to pay on time.

You don't have to be a student to get it/use it.

Additional cash back if you buy stuff at certain online stores.

Sam's is only Discover and Mastercard.

They picked the two most obscure cards to accept. I assume it's in an effort to churn more debit card transactions, thus, reducing fees.
