Would it be stupid for me to put about $3500 into SDS on Monday (assuming a slight bounce tomorrow)? Or would I be better off in some sort of gold ETF or something not leveraged.

I had some SDS and exited this AM with a nice profit. I worry about these inverse etf having a problem if you see a major market dislocation either way.

I also have SRS and SEF, and I will exit those as soon as they turn positive. THey have a ton of slippage (i.e. XLF goes down 5%, they go up 2%).

Man its too bad SRS is all messed up. I would be pouring money into there if it accurately doubleshorted. Some days it will go down when its tracking index goes down.

Any worry about counterparty risk on the swaps that make up SDS?

Well I don't really know how to answer the question, other than "slippage" has been minimal lately.

the short and ultrashort funds have been acting funny since the short ban. They also have counterparty issues. As in, you don't know who the counterparties are.

Yes I am terrified of them, thus why I am exiting.

Plus, you could easily have a no bid situation if the market really tanks, i.e. no one wants to buy it at any price b.c the market is going down.

I ended up putting the 3500 into it on Fri morning. Should get out with my gain due to the counter party risks?
