your grandfather was a savvy man.

when the covid pullback occurred in Feb/Mar 2020, we were buying 90% constitutional coinage for 11 X face value. (4 quarters for $11)

Currently those same coins sell for 72 X face (4 quarters for $72..) .... now that's a nice return

Helluva a return. My brother and I had only dabbled a bit last couple of years until last year. Have pretty good gains but not like that. Its still an amazing return from our April - August purchases. We have invested together 7 figures so have definitely enjoyed the run so far.

Selling silver when it's in backwardation will always yield sub optimal results.

I actually bought over $1,000 FV in each of the 3 denominations (dime, quarter, half-dollar) from 4/2022-1/2024 was getting anywhere from 14x-21x. I traded my 1,000 oz bar of silver I bought at $21/oz for 880 1921 BU Morgan silver dollars. I don't know what my overall cost on the $4,000 FV is but yeah nearly 3,000 oz silver in 90% fractional silver is fun when my DCA is likely in the $24/oz range.

It is not time to sell yet. The silver price is on a journey and has far to go. Uphill. Sometimes it rests. Sometimes it sprints. It will get "there".

Everybody's "there" is different. Mine is more about the ratio to gold than cost of silver, per oz.

ETA: Silver is at 50:5 to 1 right now.

Agreed. Silver is likely to increase volatility over the next couple of years - drastically…… but I believe the general bull will continue well above $220.

If one wanted to play this volatility trade on the way up …
the best way would be a physical ETF, like PSLV. Safe, avoids dealer premiums, easy transactions.

If one’s intention is to buy & hold, then physical is the best way to go , IMO. Buy the dips and watch for online dealer specials. DCA in to your position.

Demand for physical silver is way, way up ….. industrial demand (solid state batteries require a kilo of silver - each, …robotics , solar panels, data centers) monetary demand (central banks, private investors, consumer )

Production supply of silver is flat - at best …. and very few new mines are being opened in the current era. Heavily regulated in North America.

It’s likely going to be a bumpy ride on a rank bull, …. but for those that can stay in the seat for 8 seconds, it will payoff.

As much as I was banging the table for everyone to load up on silver 2022-7/2025 I am banging on the table to sell when the conditions are right.

Right now silver is in backwardation which means future silver is less expensive than silver today in futures. That means refiners stop buying except at steep discounts that then translates to wholesalers buying at steep discounts which in turn translates to the local shops buying at steep discounts.

for how long? this means nothing. as long as the fed prints money, silver and gold are safe investments.

When you hear about precious metals coming from the mainstream media parrots is the time to sell.

I'm not saying sell I'm saying don't sell now until it becomes strategically good to do so.

So we closed at 92.4215 which is -0.7635 below yesterday's close of 93.185.

Sounds harmless right? It got all the way down to 86.752 at 10:15 EST last night. If you would have told me back in 2024 that silver would get beat down by 6+ dollars during China trading hours but would close the US day only down ~75 cents I would have thought you were certifiably insane.....

The bid has to be mechanical right now. Retail doesn’t have the stomach to buy on days like today and for good reason. But, it kept getting bought up.

This is one auction that my brother and I bid on and this is what we won. The silver bar box is pretty cool - 50 - 10 oz silver bars. With the premium / juice of 18% the cost was $ 430.70 per bar. Also bought some more 10 oz silver bars and some gold as well. The next auction we picked up another bar box for an average cost per bar of $ 424.80.

All jokes aside this was my point in mid December about selling precious medals when all the grandmothers are pouring into it.
