Charlie Weis is not a great coach, bt he is nowhere near one of the 10 worst either. ND just has trouble recruiting talent. That ND won 9 and 10 games with their mediocre talent in 2005 and 2006 is somewhat of an accomplishment IMO.

And I think Willingham gets a bad rap that he doesn't deserve. I he won more than just about anyone else ever has at Stanford and really wasn't that bad at ND and didn't deserve to get fired at all. Washington is a death trap right now and it's basically impossible to win there becuase they can't recruit out of California anymore with Cal, Stanford, Oregon, ASU, UCLA and USC all taking up the best recurits. The reemergence of USC killed UW

ND is more about the academic prestige than anything else, or at least that's what they say.

You guys are really cluless. Curly Hallman actually rebuilt LSU. He had the number 2 recruiting class and was left nothing from archer. His problem was he could not keep his dick in his pants.

Dinardo, took a program that was on the virge of winning (LSU ran out of patience),
demonstrated that it would have won even without Dinardo
and then proceeded to ruin the program.
Most arrogant SOB ever also.

Dinardo wasn't bad, he just made some bad hires. He left Saban some talent though, guys like Ro, Reed, Myers, Royal, DD, Toe, Lavalais, the Greens, etc. If we'd had any semblance of a defense in 98, we prob go to a bowl and Gerry is around a bit longer.

Jackie Sherrill hasn't been mentioned?
ETA: As far as running decent programs into the ground. He sure did that at State.
Under Rocky Felker MooState's record:
87: 4-7
88: 1-10
89: 5-6
90: 5-6
Then Jackie Sherrill took over:
91: 7-5
92: 7-5
93: 4-5-2
94: 8-4
He ran a really great program right into the ground.
