The 2011 Alabama offensive line would have bullied the frick out of them. They give up roughly 40 pounds across the line and would have had to stop Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy.

Oof.

I've been here a very short time and realized that the Pride87 idiot is either a troll or extremely stupid.

Maybe both.

LB’s were smallish converted safety types too.

2011 Bama scored one touchdown total in 2 games against this defensive line

Sam Montgomery -defensive end

6’5” 260 lbs

Barkevious Mingo - defensive end

6’5” 240 lbs

Bennie logan-dt

The Nebraska line was on average about 15 lbs heavier….

You see why you sound unbelievably ignorant?

You are hopeless. The players are much better in todays game than in 1995.

Just to make it easy for those ignorant ones

Nebraska defensive end average

6’4” 281 lbs

Lsu 2011 defensive end average

6’5” 250 lbs

Nebraska DT average

6’3” 292 lbs

LSU 2011 DT average

6’4” 300 lbs

So where is the manhandling happening again?

I have watched you say Lebron couldn’t compete in the nba in the 1980s

But I think that makes a point in comparing players today

Lebron has never had a potato chip. It took losing to the pistons a second time for Jordan to figure out he could workout in the offseason as opposed to playing golf or racking up gambling debt

Nebraska had better PEDs, Bama had more talent. Good old fashioned steroids vs. Deer Antler Spray.

2011 lsu linebackers

Kevin minter
6’2” 245 lbs

Karnell Hatcher

6’2” 223 lbs

Tahj Jones

6’2” 205 lbs

1995 Nebraska linebackers

Foreman

6’1” 240lbs

Ellis

6’2” 225 lbs

Farley

6’1” 205 lbs

Seems eerily similar…..

This size shite y’all have in your head about 1995 Nebraska is just factually incorrect. They size up with 2011 lsu which seemed to do just fine not being manhandled by Bama….

For some teams yes. But 1995 Nebraska is what ushered in “the modern football player”. They invented it. There is a reason they literally ran over everyone. They were ahead of their time with weight lifting and nutrition (steroids)

Good Lord, I didn't know they were that small. Richardson and Lacy would have run rough shod over those slow arse, undersized dudes.

Why did y’all struggle so much to do anything against the smaller 2011 lsu defense?

2011 lsu was smaller on average than 1995 nebraska on defense

GSU was flexbone running the midline and veer. Nebraska was I-based running the belly and speed option. GSU’s option game was a hell of a lot more dangerous from scheme standpoint.

Bama was injured on the DL playing an option sunbelt team the week before the iron bowl and probably barely gameplaned for the system.

With a month to game-plan, get healthy and get reps against the option Nebraska would’ve had all they wanted with that defense.

Chapman/Square/Williams healthy could hold the LOS, but the LB/S group was nasty and finished #1 in defense in almost every category.

LB: Upshaw/Johnson/Hightower/Mosely S: Barron and Lester

Most of those guys had long NFL careers and would’ve had no problem setting the edge.

On offense the whole OL went to the NFL and you had McCarron/Richardson/Lacy in the backfield. WR/TE group was pretty tame by current standards though.

I’d take 2011 Bama over Nebraska in a competitive game, but the 2021 team was better IMO.

Nick Saban: "Nebraska in 1995 was the most complete football team I've ever seen in college football."

In 1995, Nebraska gave Saban the worst beatdown of his coaching career, 50-10.

The next year, they eclipsed their own record, beating the Spartans 55-14.

'Nuff said.

It’s not a question of size, but of talent.

Look at how many players LSU and Bama put in the NFL in 2011 vs Nebraska 95.

It’s not even close.

Nebraska was a strong and highly disciplined team, but from a pure talent standpoint they were outmatched by Bama and LSU in 2011.

What does a 6-5-1 1995 Michigan State have to do with 2011 Bama? Saban’s scheme wasn’t even running the same by 2011.

There were probably 2 players from MSU that would’ve started for Bama in 2011. (Mason, Moose Muhammad).

1995 Nebraska had every player on the defensive line play 4 or more years in the nfl.

Their middle linebacker played 8 nfl seasons

The free safety had 2 nfl seasons

One starting corner had 5 nfl seasons

One starting corner had 10 nfl seasons

The strong safety played 10 nfl seasons

So 9 starters on defense played in the nfl.

8 starters on defense played more than 4 nfl seasons.

Sounds pretty good eh?

The quote from Saban was from 2018

2011 Alabama had a Sagarin rating of 104.17.
2019 LSU had a Sagarin rating of 104.9.
2001 Miami had a Sagarin rating of 106.4.

1995 Nebraska had a Sagarin rating of 117.05.

27 of their players from that team were on NFL rosters. 2011 Bama had 14.
