Rays made one small deal at deadline, getting OF Jordan Luplow and RHP DJ Johnson, both at Triple-A with #Indians, for Double-A RHP Peyton Battenfield.
Luplow mashes lefties and the Rays have really struggled vs LHP. Should be a good fit.

Would have loved Buxton but Braves got a good bit better today. Will be interesting to see how the PT is divvied up in the outfield and what happens with Ozuna.
Rotation is very solid but bullpen is still a little concerning to me. I think division is doable if TDA is healthy and the OF PT is divvied up appropriately assuming bullpen can be even serviceable.

There's a 40 man roster crunch coming and he's gotta move some of the prospects.
You know he deals w/ budget that most teams don't, right?

W/getting Rodriguez, everyone else moves down a slot in the pen. So now Will Smith is the setup man and can close when RR has days off.
The team got better today. Still wish we had big #40 pitching. Can't wait for him to get back.

The Twins wanted a package that included at least Dominic Smith and shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio from Mets for Jose Berrios, per sources.
Mets maintained Minnesota’s request was too high.

Mets should have pulled the trigger

Eh, he is our #2 prospect...the top 4 were pretty much untouchable i think

Bullpen is still far from a strength and the peripherals don’t paint a promising picture moving forward for many of the arms. The underlying numbers for Rodriguez since the crackdown are also pretty concerning.

I’m not trading Dom Smith and our #2 prospect for Maeda and Josh Donaldson.

I have doubts he’ll start even when he’s back.

correct
we are very thin on the farm as it is

apparently we ran out of time on a deal with the Twins. We need a GM and not a old man and Scott

Godfather and I speculated he will be a limited innings starter in mid Sept
or maybe a RHP situational guy

Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Throws off mound Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Syndergaard (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
It marked the right hander's first time throwing off a mound since he suffered a setback in his recovery from Tommy John surgery in late May. While resuming mound work is a huge step for Syndergaard, he still figures to be multiple weeks away from beginning a rehab assignment, which means he's unlikely to rejoin the major-league roster until early September. Given those time constraints, the Mets have already alluded to the possibility of the 28-year-old serving in a relief role when he returns.

I feel like the Mets make a run at Bryant in FA

It hurts my soul to laugh at that but that’s hilarious
