I think that is why the FIA can't do anything to enforce the method.
Also why it is hard to believe that this just now is an issue. Manipulating metallurgy is key to F1 tolerances. F1 knew Mclaren were doing this with beryllium so they banned the use. It was a health/safety risk as well.

That’s kind of crazy.
Saw an article today saying GP may be about to leave Max and RB to go to Aston Martin or Williams
Watching 2008 Brazil GP race at this bar I’m sitting at right now and why does interlagos look to have so much more elevation change back then than it does now?
Shitty camera placement/direction?

Aston Martin is going to make a major push for Max next year

Motorsport photo of the year. The safety of these cars is impressive.

Max made some reference to some issue in GP's personal life. Nothing specific but the way the paddock is it seems like and issue people know just respectfully don't talk about.
It's still a career and life so the move could be more work/life balance or just strictly something RBR could never provide.

That is my understanding. This year's TV direction was terrible in particular. Not sure if there was some large change.
If I remember right....When Liberty took over there was a move for different angle (lower angles?) to show the speed of the cars better. The tradeoff might have been not seeing some elevation or scenery as well.
2018 article on camera changes

GP posted recently that his wife has breast cancer. It's pretty amazing that it never leaked out until GP made it public. Shows how tight lipped the paddock can be when things really need to be kept hush-hush.

Prayers for GP & his wife.
He took some time off during the 2025 season and only came back when Max had a chance in the title fight. From my understanding, he wants to step back into a role where he can still help but not have to keep up with the travel schedule so he can spend time with his wife & child. I would assume if he leaves Red Bull it's because they aren't willing to accommodate and will then go to another English based team who will.

Missed that. Makes sense.

Speaking on FIA enforcement, I read on racingnews365 that the FIA is increasing the protests, reviews, and appeals threshhold from €2,000 to €20,000. Teams will still receive the deposit back if they win the protests and forfeit it if they lose.
Seems like inflation has also hit the FIA.

Fine dining has gotten more expensive, and FIA execs only eat at 2-star minimums.

Does this money count against the salary cap? Are they doing this to cut down on silly protest or to prevent teams from protesting every race next season because of the engine thing?

From what I read if you lose, the money will be forfeited and go against the cap.

That increase is just on the F1 level?
That is one reason a lot of the fines are so out of whack. Some of the fines and penalties are the same for F1 as F4.
